Hello,

My TI 82 calculator suddenly crashed, displaying "Mem cleared."
When I turned it back on, I had to reset the screen color, and all the information I had entered (function formula, value table...) was deleted...

Is it the batteries that need to be changed? A mishandling? Or is my calculator defective (it's an old version that I've been using for over 4 years)?

Thank you

"Are the batteries the ones that need to be changed?"

    Yes, it's quite possible.

    "A misoperation?"

Possible too: do you see the 'reset' button well hidden at the bottom of a small hole, only accessible with a paperclip tip?

"Or is my calculator defective (it's an old version that I've been using for over 4 years)?"

That's also possible... in fact, only a test would clarify the distinction among the three possibilities!

If the problem persists despite changing the batteries, then it's a defect in the machine.
