Outlook: the little envelope has disappeared

Hello everyone,

A small, somewhat trivial problem but not without importance: at work, one of my main tools is the OUTLOOK messaging system. Since I receive a lot of emails, I really like the little feature that shows a small envelope at the bottom right, next to the clock, whenever I have unread mail.
However, it no longer appears.
Does anyone know how to make it show up again?

    ...right-click on the notification bar....
    Customize notifications....
    Select the desired item (the small envelope) and activate it...
