I found the solution... it consists of converting your MP3 files with the same sampling rate.. and as if by magic all the tags come back..

I opened all the tracks of the album in iTunes, I selected them all, right-click, "convert ID3 tags", I checked the first box "ID3 tag version" and I chose 2.3. It doesn't work for me with 2.4.
So under Win7, I can see the idtag :)

I had the same problem. I could no longer edit my tags either with the explorer or with mp3 tags. I tried with the tag editor in the AIMP2 player and it worked.

I had the same problem, and it was because the data (artist name, title, etc.) were in Chinese! Windows 7 couldn't display them in the properties and I couldn't modify anything. With the VLC player (free), I was able to see them (in Chinese). So I deleted them and replaced them with the correct name in the program. Result: when I checked the properties in Win7 again, it worked. I hope this helps.

I modify the "details (windows 7)" or tags with Itunes and I have no problem!
