Good evening,
I just received a message from 38028. Here is the content (copied letter for letter exactly as on my mobile):
"Message from the Orange Mobile Customer Service:
Could you please call 0800028028 - free call - THANK YOU"
Given the uppercase letters and abbreviations, I doubt the reliability of this message... While searching online, I found that this same number 38028 has been sending spam to other people!

Does anyone have advice on what I should do? Should I call this number or not???

Well, I received this message and I called by mistake... I went from €0.80 of extra charges to €1.10 of extra charges... so false advertising plus spam... I've already sent this to 33700:

I think the best option is to call Orange's customer service directly or go to a store.

It's normal that a 0800 number advertised as free isn't free when calling from a mobile, only from landlines.

Hello, I received a message like this, with this number (38028), but the header came from "Numéricable", asking me to call 0437402510 to regularize my payment. I've received this twice now, the first time I thought it was a mistake and I replied to report it. But the first time it was through 38004.
And this on my work mobile phone.

I RECEIVED A MESSAGE FROM 38028 STATING THAT A 18 EURO MOBILE PHONE INSURANCE PAYMENT WAS OVERDUE AND TO BE PAID BY CREDIT CARD AT 0178414585. SINCE I DID NOT SUBSCRIBE TO MOBILE PHONE INSURANCE WITH ORANGE, I CALLED THEM AND THEY TOLD ME THAT IT DID NOT COME FROM THEM.

I just received a text message from 38028 with a mobile number and an email address, following my ad posted on a sales site for my car.
I called the mobile number in question and the person asked me to send them by email my bank details, identity card, vehicle registration document and my phone numbers. Moreover, they want me to write them a sales agreement.
What should I do and what are the risks?

These are targeted spams. On April 11th, I received an SMS from 38028 supposedly from GDF (and I have electricity with GDF); and today it's pretending to be Belvia (I am also with Belvia, but for my rent).

Today I received a text from them inviting me to an open house at a school. Apparently, it’s legitimate; I agreed to give my number to a list of schools that might potentially interest me through Studyrama. When I replied 'stop' to no longer receive their texts, here was the response I received: "ORANGE BUSINESS SERVICES ContactEveryOne We have taken note of your request. You will no longer receive SMS from us."

I therefore imagine that 38028 is a service offered by Orange to companies wishing to send texts to a large number of people, and that several of these companies are fraudulent like the scams mentioned above. But for my part, it wasn't a scam.
