switch to DTV mode SAMSUNG LE-32B350

Question

Hello,
we just acquired this amazing TV, but the downside is that we can’t switch to DTV mode to access the TNT channels; even the manual doesn’t explain it! We only have the 6 "normal" analog channels, and even with an automatic search, no digital channels are detected...
On other sites, they say to press the TV/DTV button on the remote, but the remote only says TV! And even when we press it, nothing changes!
Can someone please help us??

here's the news...

We managed to talk to the neighbor upstairs, who has a home cinema and a plasma screen... he explained to us that when he moved into the building, he already had a flat screen and had the same problem as us, the TNT didn't work... he changed his TV twice thinking it was a TV issue, and with his plasma screen, he bought an indoor antenna and miracle, the TNT appeared!! He kindly lent us his antenna to try at home, and YESSS the TNT worked! So it's definitely an antenna problem, the building isn't equipped for it...

Therefore, in the end, we are going to keep the TV (my husband refuses to part with it hehe) and we will invest in an indoor antenna... with the whole "going digital" thing, we would have bought a flat screen anyway...

Are you sure you can receive the digital terrestrial television (DTT)? I also have a Samsung LCD and simply pressing the TV button allows you to switch to DTV.

I feel like I don't have the same remote control!!!! The TV button is located at the top right of the remote control... and the only yellow button that exists is at the bottom next to a green button and a blue button, and there's nothing written on it.

Umm... how can I tell if we receive Freeview or not?? When I press the TV button, there's just a square in the top left with TF1 - ATV written on it, that's all, nothing changes!

I forgot: I live across from my parents' residence, which receives digital terrestrial television, so I doubt we can't receive it... we bought it today, having to return to customer service already really disheartens me!!!

When I press the only yellow button, it says "unavailable"

Maybe we need to run the automatic search several times??? We have a very high-speed internet connection, that is fiber optic (just like my parents, and friends, who all receive digital terrestrial television just fine)

I don't understand....

Otherwise, go back to the "plug and play".....

Did you have DTT before? I don’t think so.
You should check with your neighbors.
The built-in DTT tuner on your LCD works with a rooftop antenna.
I think the problem comes from that, but not from your LCD.
I hadn't seen the other post; your parents or neighbors may have another decoder...

He found that there are 6 channels and they're analog ones too :( We've tried and tried the Plug & Play but it doesn't find the digital channels :(

We don't have the same remote control then... but mine is a 46 something... that said, it seems likely that you're not picking up the TNT, or that you've done something wrong...
I think I remember that to search for channels, initially, you need to be in analog mode, did you do that?

No, the decoder has to be built-in since the beginning of the year, but the antenna may not work for the digital terrestrial TV... you'll need to ask the neighbors...

I don’t know your setup, but I do think you will indeed need to get an external decoder if you stick with this connection type or change the antenna.
But first, you should definitely check with your parents or neighbors.

It is prohibited for a store to sell a TV without built-in digital terrestrial television (DTT)!!!
An external decoder won't change anything to the issue!!!
Are you going through menu/config/plug and play?
The ideal would be to try this TV at a neighbor's who has DTT, if possible connected to the same antenna....

Poupougne13, The LCD does have a built-in terrestrial decoder, but it works with a rooftop antenna. If you want to receive signals with a satellite dish, you need the Fransat or TNT SAT demodulator.

To respond to everyone (thank you so much for your advice and help!!) my husband told me that the residence receives good TNT (terrestrial television), but just to be sure, I'll ask the neighbors first thing tomorrow...  As for the internet, as I mentioned, we have very high speed with fiber optics...  And yes, we bought a new TV today, and when we turned it on, we followed the plug&play...  Having to buy a TNT decoder for a TV with an integrated TNT tuner would be the height of irony!!!

Just passing by... I just read in another more or less similar topic that it could come from the antenna or the cable of the residence if it has a "pseudo" cable network, like Numericable... I'm not too sure about what I'm saying, I can't find the topic, but it made me a bit "ding" because during the installation of high-speed internet, the technician told me that day "I put a label on your TV cable just in case you want to get cable later, that way we'll know which one is yours"... is there a connection???

Hello, As I mentioned earlier. The built-in TNT decoder in the LCD works with a "Rateau" type antenna. For reception with a satellite dish, you need the Fransat or TntSat decoder (It depends on the satellite: Astra or Hotbird). Hello Franck,thank you very much for your advice and your help,if I remember correctly, our landlord told us when we moved in that they had taken the cable through Noos (at the time). We are not subscribed to cable, we did that on purpose since we were considering buying a TV with built-in TNT, so cable is unnecessary.And for the decoder, do we need to buy that????I'm going to see my neighbors right away and I’ll keep you updated during the day!

Well... I was able to ask two neighbors, unfortunately, they don't have a TV with built-in TNT, but both of them had a TNT decoder box and they told me they were receiving it well...  I will see if I can check with other neighbors, but still, can this information already help move things forward????  I tried plug&play again, but still nothing :(  I don't know what to do anymore....

Hello FIRST, you need to make sure that in the building (if it's a multi-story residence), the collective antenna has been modified to pick up TNT (ask the former residents of the building or the syndicate; they should be aware) and only then SECOND, worry about the TV SCAN setting, which must be done on an antenna suitable for TNT; otherwise, it won't work (with the manual in hand, as it seems that not all remote controls are the same) => the SCAN, from the word scanner [channel scanning], is accessible through the MENU function on the remote control. The television scans on demand according to the MENU choice for all analog and digital channels, or one or the other, which allows you to find new channels when they are available. Have fun!

Thank you all for your help!  I have some information to add...  I went to a store and asked a TV salesman, just in case, I explained my problem to him, and he would lean more towards an issue with the TV itself since my neighbors are still receiving TNT even with a box... but he still asked me to check with the customer service where we bought the TV to see if a technician can come take a look (brrr it annoys me just thinking about it)  Then, I asked my parents (who live in the building across) who have a plasma TV with built-in TNT, and they told me that during the installation of the TV, they just followed the instructions, and the channels were found "normally," without any issues. It is an identical building to ours, so I doubt that one building would have a different antenna... but then again, nothing is impossible!  Finally, to respond to "Bernard," in the MENU of the remote control, there is neither the word SCAN, nor the word SCANNER, and even less "channel scanning," there is "auto memorization" or "manual memorization," maybe that means the same thing???  There is a strong chance we will return this TV, even though we have only heard good things about it, if it really is driving us this crazy!!! In order to find a solution, we still have 13 days to change our minds!

another last-minute update...  my husband just did a maneuver... then restarted plug&play, then searched for "analog and digital".... before, we found 9 analog channels, but the 2 additional channels had nothing at all (who knows what that corresponds to)... and now he's found 17! (still in analog) and once again, a BLANK SCREEN, just snow on all the other channels (except for the first 6 channels)...  it's hard to make sense of it all... Seriously....

My husband went to see the manager of our residence's syndic... he was very poorly received, she aggressively told him that it's Sunday, she's with her family, and she has better things to do, in short... he only had time to ask via the intercom if the antenna for the residence had been changed to pick up TNT.  She said "no, we've never done that," but now we're wondering if she just said that to get us off her back???  My husband suggested buying a TNT antenna that we can set up at home to receive TNT channels, because we really have a hard time separating from our TV!!  What do you think???

Good evening, But you say your neighbors receive TNT... how? ADSL or cable then... An antenna could be an option, but you shouldn't be too far from the transmitter to be able to receive the 18 channels including those in HD. Try your LCD at your parents' and then you'll make your decision...

Good evening Frank,  It's true, I didn't think to ask the neighbors "how" they're receiving the DTT; one of them just told me "I plugged in the box last week and everything works well...  But while going to the basement earlier, my husband noticed the presence of a box for a plasma screen, the latest one from LG, so with integrated DTT as well. I will check with all the other neighbors to see who it belongs to and ask them if it works for them!!  I'll keep you updated :)

We bought an internal antenna... aesthetically speaking, it's nice lol  However, another issue (yes, again!) we can receive all the TNT channels really well (it's great), but we aren't receiving the 6 HD channels!! The channels were found during the scan but there's no image?? There are the 6 channels in analog but the picture... help!! It feels like an old TV... but the picture of the TNT channels is wow!!  Could it be an antenna orientation problem??? Why can't we receive the 6 HD channels??

Decidedly.... Your model is indeed the LE32B350? The problem may come from the antenna (not amplified enough..). To have a good reception, it's still best to have an outdoor antenna. Armelina, Logically, an antenna with a gain of 40dB should have better reception than one with 26dB. After that... if you have the option to try it out and return it if it doesn't work for you... It might also be worth knowing if the relay near you broadcasts in HD. Your LCD is a good choice (price/quality ratio). There's always something better... one must learn to appreciate what one has! Be careful, some types of "rabbit ear" antennas do not pick up DTT if they are old (about 10 years or more). I have exactly the same model, it works well.  Try to borrow a DTT decoder, connect it at home to clarify the situation with the antenna (if it works with the DTT decoder, then it's not the antenna!).  Otherwise, make sure that at the beginning of the Plug&Play menu, you select "home use"; I don't know what it is, but it's for demos in stores.
