Hello,
I bought a Toshiba Satellite P300-16N, T8100/3072M/320GO/17W+ in June 2008 and it's no longer under warranty.
Bios Ref. Phoenix Bios 4.0 Release 6.1
Intel Santa Rosa CRB. TC3
Version .Mak -r1.26 Phoenix css 2006 SP3B
Intel(R) Core (TM) 2 DUO CPU T8100 2.10GHZ
3071M System Ram Passed
System Bios shadowed
Video Bios shadowed
ATAPI CD-ROM: Pioneer DVD-RW
Fixed disk 0: Toshiba MKXXXXXX
To be brief and precise: it has locked up, it wanted the user password, supervisor. I disassembled it, removed the battery, but I couldn't find the jumper on the motherboard, and by the way, how is it? In short, now at startup, I press F2, it goes to bio and it says password HDD1 to set. I press ENTER, then it asks for the current password. While before this problem, I had never gone to the BIOS or the hard drive password. It's crazy!! I'm calling on all of you for help and thanks a thousand. As a reminder, the operating system is Windows Vista (32 bits), and I have my invoice for this computer.
Configuration: Windows Vista 32 Fire Fox

hello
you need to remove the battery but don't put it back too quickly take your time to put it back in place (more than 60 minutes) the BIOS will then be reset and no password will be set
