Video format with the Pioneer AVH-P3100DVD

Hello,
I have a problem with my AV RDS car radio DVD player. It is a multifunction device that allows you to listen to music from external devices (USB stick, iPod, iPhone, phone...) watch videos (USB stick, iPod, iPhone, mobile...) and see TV.

The problem is that I don't know which format to use for videos (USB stick). I have converted videos to MPEG-4 and WMV (compatible format), but it doesn't work (fault of the converter?).

    For those interested, I found the solution to be able to read videos from an iPhone on the radio screen.

    Hello,
    we all have the same problem...
    actually, it just takes reading the manual correctly, and you will see that playing all video formats is possible, as long as you burn them onto a CD or DVD. It is not possible from a USB flash drive or memory card.
    welcome to the club of those who have been... fooled.
    If anyone has the technical solution to modify the system, I’m interested.

      At Pioneer, the video from USB only works on models where the reference includes 200 (AVH-3200DVD, etc...).

    Hello,

    I have the Pioneer 3100 double din unit and my issue is that I can't find the right video format to burn onto a CD (I want to burn clips). When I insert the CD, it shows me an unplayable file.

    What should I do?

    Hi everyone, if you have sound but no picture, remember to connect the little green wire from the stereo to the handbrake sensor so that the stereo knows you're stopped. Personally, I did a little hack to let my wife watch movies during long trips ^^

      Yes, it's easy, you just have to tell yourself whether the brake is positive or negative, and based on that, connect the brake wire to a switch, and voilà, it works non-stop^^

      Unable to read on USB stick, need to switch to higher models but Pioneer 3100 does not work with USB!

      However, I have a problem again; the clip playback works only once every two times. Does anyone have an idea?
      The clip displays, then the blue screen appears with the message that DVD playback is prohibited while driving, why? I've checked the wiring, and it seems fine to me.

      I tried with a 500GB hard drive with movies, it can't connect to it

    Hello, I bought this car radio this summer which is really great in terms of sound quality, as well as for integration with my iPhone 3G.

    I connected the iPhone via the front USB port and have never managed to play a video from the iPhone or a USB stick.

    The only solution: burn .avi files onto a blank DVD and then it works through the DVD player.

    If anyone has the solution to play from the iPhone or a USB stick, I would also be interested.

      Hi! For USB drives, videos need to be converted to VOB (DVD format). They work but take up a lot of space, so it's of no use!

    Hello, to read videos from a USB drive, you need to click on "media" at the bottom right of your screen on the desktop.
    On mine, it works like that. I haven't tried it with the iPhone.

      I have a Pioneer AVH-X770BT. I almost sold it, then I found the solution to play videos from a USB stick: put the video files in mp4 format and, above all, use a standard resolution of 360p, and it works great—no more unreadable files. A little tip or trick that could be helpful for you.

    Hello, when I plug in my USB drive, a "media" button appears at the bottom right of my screen. When I click on it, the folders containing my videos become accessible, and I can watch my movies.

    For a Muse car radio
    As for me, I copy video clips from YouTube
    I copy the URL link by hovering the mouse over the current video, right-clicking.
    Then I go to Keepvid and execute the copying of the URL link.
    For Muse, I copy the download link 3GP (240 P).
    Transfer to a USB stick
    Pure happiness

    Well, theoretically, you need to buy a separate cable to watch the videos on the iPod. I bought it, but I have the same problem as you, namely sound but no video. I should have taken Alpine instead :(

      The mvh-av270bt does not have a CD/DVD player.
      You can watch videos from a USB stick without any issues, just make sure to format them and set a resolution supported by the unit.
      I no longer have the list of compatible formats, but I have already watched movies and clips.
      And I confirm what has been mentioned in other comments: to watch videos while driving, connect the green wire to ground.

    Hello,

    I am bringing up this topic again because I have the same issue as all of you, namely that my car radio (a Pioneer avh p4200DVD) which is supposedly compatible for playing videos from the iPhone/iPod refuses to do so correctly.

    The store I went to ordered the cable that should allow me to play the clips on my iPhone directly on the radio screen. The reference is: Pioneer iPod Cable CA-IW.50V (formerly called CD-IU.50V, which is the cable mentioned above by ACORDELET).

    But after installation, I have the sound from the videos but a black screen.

    Is there a setting to be made on the car radio or the iPhone????

    Because everything is connected properly so it should work.....

    Has anyone found a solution regarding the use of the AC cable IW 50V and an iPhone to obtain only the image or sound??
    I would really like to have both at the same time on this car radio!!!

      You need to connect the USB cable and the jack on the front, and then you will have sound and image.
