White rectangle under my cursor

Hello,

Whenever I am on the web, my mouse cursor is accompanied by a small white rectangle just below it (very annoying!). I have gone through my control panel and explored everything to change my pointer settings, but this example never appears; I don’t even know where this additional rectangle comes from! I can't "write in it" or point to it with my arrow; it is unreachable (I’m not sure if I'm being clear here, um...)

I am desperate!

Help!

Thank you so much in advance! ;-)
Configuration: Windows Vista Firefox 3.5.5

Problem solved, thanks to another message from the forum, indicating that the cause was the installation of the Google Toolbar.
But removing the toolbar itself didn't fix anything, and I had to go to "Tools" > "Add-ons" to look for "Google Toolbar for Firefox" and click on "Disable".
Nice surprise: it doesn't remove the Google search box (and others) which is quite handy.

It works for me like that too, but I've lost some pretty handy features!
      Thanks!

Hello everyone, I found a very effective solution to this very annoying problem! Indeed, as some have pointed out, the square is the result of a poor coordination of a Firefox update with the Google toolbar. But the resolution of this "conflict" (since that's what it's about) is simple. Uninstall the Google toolbar (Options -> Add-ons -> Google Toolbar) and reinstall it! And there you go, problem solved (at least for me)! See you soon and happy end of year celebrations!

If you have the problem with other mice, it's not the mouse.
Normally, it's in the mouse settings (pointer settings) in the control panel.

Do you have this issue only on the internet or also with Word, for example?

    You’re using a laptop, I guess?

    Good luck!

I only have the problem on the internet, and all the adjustments I make to the pointer settings are in vain...

Otherwise, yes, I have a laptop...

I'm not getting along with this thing, and Google refuses to be my friend! ;-)

      Thank you for your response!

Oh, but I think it's the same for me! Now that I think about it, it happened after an update at the end of October, I believe!

      A solution?

      Thank you!

        Hello,
I have exactly the same issue that just appeared today!
I can't get rid of this rectangle
it appeared after an update, I deleted that update but it still hasn't gone away
have you found a solution since?
        Thank you for your replies!

You may need to check the manufacturer's website for the mouse or look in forums or on Google to see if there are drivers for the mouse suited to your version of Firefox or the update you've made.
You might try typing "mouse driver for Firefox xxxx... or "driver for white rectangle cursor" or something like that.

    Good luck!

I haven't found any solutions... (except for switching to Internet Explorer)
I don't think the problem comes from the mouse since it's the same with the touchpad!
I'll wait for a new update of Firefox!
      Thank you!!

Hello, I did everything as indicated by Gio 55, it works.
I also reactivated after restarting and there, surprise
my computer works like a breeze. Response time
significantly shortened. So I went to IE and I did
the same thing. Similar result: clear acceleration of the system.
So I keep this in mind: manipulation to be done from time to time.
    Hello everyone and fair winds.

It is possible that it is the mouse that is "acting up."
Try unplugging it and reinstalling it, possibly using the CD if you have one.

    Good luck.

Thank you for your response! I have already reinstalled, tried with other mice, and I have the same issue when using the touchpad...
This small rectangle looks like a tooltip, but it is very small, empty, and cannot be clicked on... It's super annoying!

      Thanks again!

        Hello:

        An answer element:

Since I disabled the Google bar in Firefox, I no longer have this rectangle.

Check it out on your end.
