Hello,
here is my problem:
when I want to put a circumflex accent on the "e" or when I want to put the two dots on the "i", here is what it shows - ^^ or ¨¨ -
I am not pressing twice on them. A single press gives me what you see above.
I am indeed in azerty mode and in France mode (French).
I tried changing the keyboard but the problem persists.
I thank you for helping me because I do not understand what is happening.

I found the reason why the circumflex accent sometimes changes or not, no matter what,
after spending about an hour, I finally deduced that it is neither a virus nor a driver problem,
it's just that sometimes we accidentally hit the following two keys...
ALT and SHIFT!!!!

Your problem comes from the G9 + G15 combo. Remove the mouse drivers (setpoint), and it fixes the problem.

Pour faire un accent circonflexe sur le "i", vous pouvez utiliser le caractère "î". Sur un clavier français, vous pouvez taper "i" puis appuyer sur la touche de l'accent circonflexe (généralement à gauche du "1"). Sur un clavier anglais, vous devez utiliser une combinaison de touches ou un code Unicode.

When I press the circumflex and diaeresis key, it doesn't show two accents, but... NOTHING AT ALL! But the key still works; I tested it on another computer, and it was working very well.

To respond to parisien, I can't type a letter afterwards because when I press the key, two circumflex accents or umlauts appear immediately without the letters (^^ ¨¨).
There are no dumb questions.

Do a scan. Or 2 online, it's not too serious but I think you're infected, this thing has existed for a long time, but we hadn't heard about it for a while..@++
I know it's been a while since this was posted, but this kind of comment really irritates me, and we're not that stupid, we know we have to do the accent and the vowel at the same time, but the problem is that when we press the circumflex accent ONLY ONCE, two appear; that's why I can't put a circumflex accent on the first "e" of my "meme," because otherwise it shows m^^eme ...

So I went to start, run and I typed charmap.exe
I got my window with all my characters including the E A U I
When I selected the letter it said to do this

The circumflex accent is no longer working correctly, it is systematically doubled, I also noticed that my homepage in IE was changing by itself and that I can't start the PC in safe mode, it reboots (I was trying to remove ad-aware :p)...
If anyone has an idea of why or how, I thank you in advance.

I too have this problem, and the online scan or with Avast finds nothing... I would like to know if it is possible to return to a "normal" input of the circumflex accent or the tilde, if so how, and what other problems this old virus might cause... :/ Thank you.

After two months of struggle, facing the same issue with accents, I found the solution: I had installed CAPTSCREEN and it was this software that caused the problem with the accents. I uninstalled it and restarted the computer. Everything went back to normal. So if you have this software and are having problems with accents...
I had the same problem as you a little while ago, and I just tried one of those fabulous online antivirus tools that were linked a bit earlier. It worked! Thank you very much!
I had the same problem and as you can see, it's fixed! Check your processes to see if you have fyof.exe active. If so, end that process and search your computer to find it and rename its extension (I changed it from exe to bkp). If everything works well after a while, you can delete it!
I did this because it slipped past Avira anti-virus (I know, it's free and mediocre but it works just fine for me!)

To respond to Routier, I have Norton AV (Anti-Virus) 2004 and it is up to date.
I ran a scan and it found nothing. I also did a scan with an online AV and it found nothing either.
As for Hijack, I don't know what that is.
Regarding the "viruses" you mentioned, I even tried to find them by searching my hard drive.
