I have Acer Vista and when starting it shows:
A Disk read error occurred
Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart
what does (Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart) mean
and where can I find the Del key on the keyboard, how should I proceed

Configuration: Windows XP Firefox 3.0.10

Hello,

The 3 keys are marked on the keyboard
Alt, Ctrl, Del (or Delete on a French keyboard)
You first press Alt then Ctrl then Del while keeping your fingers pressed down

I think I must have a problem with the hard drive.
Upon restarting, it keeps showing me this:
A Disk read error occurred
Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart
What does it mean:

it means that it detects a reading problem on your hard drive, particularly in the boot zone. Generally, this type of error leads to formatting and reinstalling the system. But maybe others have different ideas.

Thank you for this information.
I will have to buy a hard drive, hoping I won’t encounter any issues with the reinstallation, because I don’t have the Vista software; it's a backup that I made from the system (C drive) on 3 DVDs since the Vista software is no longer provided with the purchase.

Maybe there's no need to buy right away. First, you should try reinstalling from the installation CD. The faulty tracks will be ignored by the system.

Hello  your hard drive is completely dead, there's nothing to be done except replace the hard drive with a new one and reinstall the entire operating system.
