    Hello,

I’d like to know if we can delete the *.pf files, because every time I shut down my PC, there is an error message like,

firstlog.exe - The DLL initialization failed
The application could not initialize because the workstation is being shut down.

What should I do??! because every time I want to shut down my PC, there is an error message of this type ... :s

    Thanks

    Hello,

    To view file name extensions:
in the Explorer, Tools menu > Folder Options, View tab, uncheck the box "Hide extensions for known file types".

A search by Start > Search and then typing in the box successively *.exe, *.pf, *.scr will locate all these files.

    A few clarifications:
    1. a folder has no extension; it is simply a container.
    2. the exe files are executable, there is at least one per installed program.
    3. pf files are contained in the prefetch folder (see http://www.generation-nt.com/astuces/imprimer/156/) or in Java as well.
    4. scr files are screensavers stored in the system32 folder.

    See you

    Continuation...
We cannot properly read a pf file, besides there wouldn't be much point in doing so.
An executable is made to be executed (tautology), that is to launch a program or start the installation of a program.
If the executable no longer launches anything, it may be due to the trial period expiring (http://www.saitoo.net/modules/telecharger/categorie-50-cao-et-pao.html)

    See you
