Wide cursor issue that deletes while typing

Hello everyone, I have a problem with Word. The large blinking cursor deletes one letter each time I type a letter, and it's very annoying. If anyone has a solution, thanks. Please help me out =) and have a great day everyone.
Configuration: Windows XP Firefox 3.5.2

    Disable the "Insert" key on your keyboard...
