Bluetooth security key activation

Hello

I have a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse set that works very well with the USB transmitter that was sold with it. However, I would like to avoid using it to save a port for the Bluetooth connection integrated into my laptop. When I use the Bluetooth device addition assistant in Vista, it detects both products but cannot assign a security key to them. Even when I choose it, it doesn't work. Then, I get a message saying that Windows cannot establish communication with the devices.

- Is there a solution to this type of problem?
- I thought that as soon as the devices (headset, printer, phone, keyboard, mouse...) were Bluetooth capable, they could all communicate with each other.
Can you clarify this for me?

Thank you

When requesting a security key, do you not have a checkbox at the bottom of the window that roughly says "This device does not require a security key"? That's what I have.

I have exactly the same problem with a keyboard. It tells me there's a key, so I type it and it doesn't work...
