Hello,

I have a Packard-Bell PC with OEM Windows, but I just installed Windows 7 and I still have the hidden OEM partition (as volume) that uses 8GB which I no longer need and I would like to delete it. I can see it in the disk management but I can't delete it, I went through DiskPart but nothing works, at the moment of deletion it crashes.
What should I do?

Thank you for your help.

Best regards
Configuration: Windows 7 Firefox 3.5.2

    Thank you to fraggy
    1. Open a Command Prompt (as an administrator in Windows Vista)
    2. Launch Diskpart by typing "diskpart" and then press Enter
    3. Once in the Diskpart commands, enter "rescan" and then press Enter to scan all partitions, volumes, and hard drives.
    4. Type "list disk" and then press Enter to display the list of available hard drives.
    5. Select the disk containing the partition to delete. To do this, type "select disk x" where x is the disk number and press Enter. Be careful not to select the wrong disk.
    6. Then type "list partition" and press Enter to display the available partitions on this hard drive.
    7. Select the partition to delete by typing "select partition x" where x is the EISA partition to be deleted and press Enter. Again, be cautious with the partition number. Don’t hesitate to back up your data if you have any doubts about the disk/partition numbers.
    8. Finally, type "delete partition override" and press Enter.

Hello, I followed all the steps but at the end it says this:

      Virtual disk service error:
Deletion is not allowed on the active boot volume, system volume, paging file volume, crash dump volume, or hibernation volume.

I need to force the deletion of this partition to merge my drive (c) into a single partition. If anyone has an idea???
