I have the same problem; I want a laptop for myself and for exactly the same reasons as you. But the problem is that I always have good grades. I'm in 8th grade and I've been the top of my class for the first two terms. I’ve dropped a bit for the third term, but I think I’ll be second. Even though I always get good grades, they don’t want to give me one. So why do I want a laptop? Well, simply because all my friends have one, and especially because my parents are always complaining about the games (like Guild Wars) that I put on the computer. Plus, they are always looking over my shoulder, which bothers me a bit when I'm on MSN, for example. Other than that, I have nothing to hide, but there you go. What can I do?

Hello, I only argued with my mom once and she said "yes." I don't have very good grades, but she bought it for me. She went online and typed: cheap PC, and we found one. You guys just have bad luck!!!

You will first have to wait for your mom to get hers!
You can also bring back very good grades all school year and get congratulations, the honor roll, and be at the top of the class.
But you can always make some money washing cars or doing windows, and buy your supplies when you've saved enough money.

You can also promise them to write in correct language, without the mistakes and phonetic approximations that are not very appreciated on CCM.
