Samsung R710 issue

Hello,

My PC (Samsung R710) was working fine until one day it suddenly turned off to display a list of system actions scrolling quickly on a line, black on white (a bit like a scandisk). After that, my PC experienced some slowdowns.
I performed a whole battery of antivirus, malware, rootkit tests, etc., with no success. So, I decided to format to get rid of it.
The problem is that after a low-level format (a bit paranoid, I know...), I encountered the same issue during the installation of software on Vista, specifically an instant shutdown and that quick scandisk thing again...
I'm therefore looking for leads to understand what's happening.
Thanks for your advice, and thanks to those who know nothing for not cluttering up the forum (CCleaner won’t help;))
Configuration: Windows Vista Firefox 3.5.2

Up! Please. My PC keeps shutting down, it's still strange after a formatting. Is my BIOS infected?
Has anyone had this problem? I'm hesitant to reset the BIOS (on some PCs it reactivates the factory password)...
    Thanks for your help.

    Hello,

Below is a subforum of forum-hardware reserved for your machine where you can find users who can help you.

    https://forum.hardware.fr/hfr/OrdinateursPortables/Transportable/topic-samsung-6400-sujet_52160_1.htm

I myself have a Samsung R710 running VISTA and I experienced the same problem as you. Around early July, the laptop suddenly had a hard time reaching the working post and most of the time, it rebooted before reaching it. I am lucky to have a neighbor who is a computer technician, and he modified something in the BIOS, and since then I haven't had any problems.

I can inquire about this modification and give it to you, but since I work and rarely visit "CommentCaMarche.net," I don't have time to come here every day to see if you replied. However, I visit forumHardware almost every day, so if you go to the link I provided above and explain your problem, I will quickly see if you're there and I'll give you the information.

P.S.: I use another username on forumhardware, so it's normal if you don't see me; it won't stop me from responding to you.

    Hello,

a Windows update that was installed incorrectly... That's what I experienced around the same time, it seems. (I reinstalled using Samsung Recovery)

My current issue involves the computer shutting down, and I can't start it.
At startup, there's a beep, boot c, wait and continuous high-pitched beeps (20 seconds or less sometimes) then the Samsung R710 shuts down.

Do you have any idea, please?

    Thanks in advance
    Fréd

    Hello Mr
I have this Samsung R710 laptop that I've had for 6 years without any problems, but it occasionally shuts down and we have to restart it:
    I'm pretty sure it's overheating a bit because the fan kicks in very often;
so it could be clogged with dust, which means I'll need to take it apart soon
and I'm not 100% sure that's the issue, but after this many hours of daily use, 13 hours a day, there must be dust
I'll keep you updated on this cleaning and also on the CPU grease, let's see
However, I'm not sure that the update is responsible for these shutdowns since we download it and then it installs, so if there was an issue, it would revert to the old version
    Best regards, Bernard
