Hello,
I thought I had solved my problem but it’s still present
I need to configure a D-Link 3200 access point with a Livebox Pro V2
diagram
Livebox (((((wifi))))) DWL-3200 AP (((((wifi))))) PC
The problem is that I can’t connect the D-Link to the box
I thought the problem was solved but in fact I had left the Ethernet cable plugged in and now it’s working perfectly
My question is
do we always need to leave the access point connected by Ethernet to start and then connect the other APs via WIFI, or can we start directly with WIFI ??
Thanks to everyone for your future answers

Hello again,
You need to configure the Dlink in WDS mode with AP.
At the SSI level, set the MTs to the same as the Livebox.
Then in the LAN settings menu set Get IP from Static and set:
IP address: 192.168.1.50 (I’ve put a 1 here)
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.1.1 (this is the Livebox address)
Disable the DHCP server (DHCP Server menu)
Save the settings. Disconnect the cable and restart the D-Link and set the Livebox to association.
And check by connecting to the D-Link, but note the address has changed, it is now 192.168.1.50

Hello
thanks smart but the problem is recurring
still no association between the dwl3200 and the live box
now I connect the dwl3200 with a laptop should I not plug it directly into the live box
I'll try that tomorrow (I have all day to devote to it)
Now I can't change the IP address of the dwl3200 (it always reverts to 192.168.0.50) so wouldn’t the problem come from there ???
Do we necessarily have to put the live box in hot spot (I don't think so but oh well)

the rogue AP menu is indeed used to define on which network to associate
Thanks -
so here I’m stuck because same problem with the 2200 ap
there’s something I must not do

It will be difficult to help you because I’m not in front of your PC and the D-Link. But it seems to me that the documentation is quite explicit. And the important points I’ve already given you in my previous responses

Hello Smart
in case of an association between a live box and a repeater
are they transparent or can you see them anywhere ???
--
sharing knowledge is the beginning of intelligence -
If UPnP is available and enabled on both, you can see them in network favorites.
But why this question?

because in fact they are completely transparent and I don't know where it's blocking
tomorrow I'll try to deactivate the wifi of the Livebox, connect the 2200 wired as the primary transmitter and repeat the signal with the 3200 and we'll see

hello SMART
i finally managed to configure my machines
I summarize
[LIVE BOX]-------[2200-AP] (((((WIFI))))) [3200-AP] ((((( WIFI ))))) [PC]
192.168.0.1 192.168.0.10 192.168.0.50 determined by DHCP
192.168.0.1 (Gateway) 192.168.0.1 (gateway)
WIFI (SSID) WIFI (SSID)
(MAC address 3200AP) (MAC address 2200AP)
Channel 6 Channel 6
mode WDS & AP mode WDS & AP
no network security for tests but WEP key and MAC address afterwards
the issue was that I was taking the problem the wrong way I think because I started from the LIVE BOX to the PC
thinking about it in reverse it works let me explain
I configured the 3200AP first then the 2200AP and there was no more problem
and the second issue I think both repeaters were on different modes (one in WDS and the other in WDS & AP).
Again thanks SMART for the time you dedicated to me and your involvement in my problem

OK, I’m happy for you, but I didn’t realise you had two access points, otherwise I would have explained myself differently.
But the main thing is that it works and I commend you for your involvement, for trying to understand what I was saying and what you were doing; there aren’t many who do, believe me, most people expect everything to be laid out on a plate without trying to learn.

“If you have no ambitions, you settle by the edge of the fall” (Kundera) -
however smart is it normal that the D-Link brand does not connect to the Livebox and that another one can (test done with my personal Belkin and no problem) apparently I am not the only one to have the problem
--

No, that’s not normal. But I thought the problem was solved

Actually I bypassed the problem by wiring the 2200-AP, but I can’t get WiFi to work. But apparently the D-Link hardware wouldn’t be compatible with the live (dixit d’autres forums)
is that true or not ????

Hello,
To better place my problem, I work for a company specialized in the workshop network for CNC machines. I use the POE solution to self-power MOXA Np 5110s, which act as the bridge between RJ45 and RS232.
For Wi-Fi testing, I just bought a D-Link DWL-3200AP but it’s impossible to install AP Manager, whether on Windows 2000 Pro, XP Pro, or Vista.
I can access the D-Link interface via the IP address, but when I want to change it, it’s impossible.
I connect my D-Link through a D-Link POE splitter and using the power adapter: same result.
When I run the AP Manager .exe, this message appears:
The system does not detect MySQL Server.
MySQL Server ver5.0 is not installed on my PC before installing AP Manager and does not provide a link.
https://dev.mysql.com/downloads/mysql/5.0.html
And it also says that MySQL Server Connector/ODBC ver3.51 is not installed on my PC and asks me to install it before AP and to create a connection with MySQL Server ver 5.0.
Another link is provided:
https://dev.mysql.com/downloads/connector/odbc/3.51.html
I went to both links and I’m asked to register, which I did.
I then downloaded the two files requested but there’s nothing to install or anything that could help.
I don’t know at all how MySQL works, so if someone could help me before I lose all my hair, thank you very much!! -
What I can tell you is that the Livebox is the router, the main Wi-Fi access point, and the DHCP server. That’s why it disables the DHCP Service on the D-Link. It’s also necessary on the D-Link side, for it to connect to the Livebox, to set its SSID to that of the Livebox and the correct WEP/WPA key. Here is the link to the D-Link manual in case you don’t have it: ftp://ftp.dlink.fr/DWL/DWL-3200AP/Manuel/rev_B/DWL3200AP_manual_240.pdf Smart -- “If you have no ambitions, you settle at the edge of the waterfall” (Kundera)
