Beginner gamer looking for good games on PC!!!

Hello,

I'm newly interested in PC video games and I don't know much about it, and I'm not quite sure what style of games to choose.
I just want to play to relax and really clear my head; I don't want to spend 25 years figuring out how to get the thing to do something or how to defeat the big bad guy before I can actually do it.

What do you recommend?

    Diablo 2, a classic video game, Sims 2 or 3, Age of Mythology (well, it's starting to get old but if you find it, it's a very good choice), Fallout 3, Need for Speed (from Underground onwards, it starts to get interesting. I still play Underground 2 on my PC by the way!)...

    You should read reviews from experienced players on sites like jeuxvideo.com. Otherwise, there are magazines specialized in the field.
