How to get a .cap file

Hello,
can you please help me as I'm looking to capture packets (IVs) with Ethereal and get a .cap or .ivs file.
I have Windows XP Home Edition.
Configuration: Windows XP Safari 530.5

The principle of recovering IVs is illegal. In any case, the only purpose of recovering them is for an illegal purpose: hacking poorly secured networks.

IVs allow for the retrieval of a web password through an algorithm used in air-crack. So it's illegal.

I've already said too much. The CCM charter forbids me from going this far. You can find plenty of tutorials online.

Hello!

There are software for that (like aircrack). But it's not really legal. Nothing proves that you want to hack, but nothing proves the opposite either.

There isn't any other software that's a bit more legal.
