FUJITSU AMILO Xa 2528: AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Hello,

I just wanted to warn the members of this forum about Fujitsu's practices.

Indeed, the Amilo 2528 is equipped with chips that heat up; this problem is now recognized and considered a hidden defect. Fujitsu is in trouble. Thus, Fujitsu is dragging its feet to carry out repairs. In my case, the PC no longer works. Bought last September, it broke down twice, was sent back to customer service, who changed the hard drive (the failure is due to the video card!!!) and this happened twice in four months. Of course, it broke down shortly after (it couldn't be otherwise).
I have requested a cancellation of the sale for hidden defects on the advice of the Fraud Prevention Office. Well, believe it or not, Fujitsu waits for three unsuccessful repairs to trigger the commercial gesture of reimbursement. Three breakdowns in a year!! We buy a PC to have it break down at least three times, that's well known!! You will all understand the efficiency of such a brand.
Believe my experience, DO NOT BUY FUJITSU.

I hope my advice will prevent you from making the same mistake as I did.

Best regards to all.

If you're looking for a piece of crap PC, a customer service that treats you like a fool, and an incompetent support service, look no further, I've found and tried it for you: buy Fujitsu. Because with Fujitsu, you won't be disappointed, you'll really get it up the ass.

I have rarely seen such a cowardly, deceitful, and thieving customer service. Cowardly because they don’t take responsibility for their crappy PCs, deceitful because they promise an exchange in writing and send you back the same PC after 4 months (without warning you so you accept and open the package only to find the same junk inside, making it too late to file any complaints), supposedly repaired PC with a 3-month warranty (which will break down again after these 3 months because it’s the same part from the same supplier and not necessarily new) and thieving because their PCs are not cheap and nothing is done to satisfy the customer according to the prices charged. In short, don’t buy any of their crap, the only way to never deal with this bunch of incompetent fools who think they are smarter. They forget that their livelihood comes from us, former customers, both individuals and professionals, who will never return and who will spread the word so that this brand (if we can even call it that) stops ripping people off. **** To be spread without delay and without moderation****

Hello, I also have an Amilo XA 2528, and I have the same problem. At startup, the fan runs at full speed for 5 seconds and then stops when the screen backlight turns on, but the screen remains black and nothing happens. However, my computer has not been under warranty since December 2009.
I wanted to know if anyone had any news from customer service or if you had a way to solve this problem.
    Thank you in advance.

Same problem - PC purchased in February 2008 broke down in December 2010. In the meantime,
it was taken back by Inter Discount at 45% of the purchase price.
PC with many issues, fan, defective - startup, - word processing is misaligned.
It's difficult to write a letter, there are permanent shifts of words in the text. ETC ETC
      Not recommendable.

The problem with the AMILO XA 2528 and the graphics card is that to give the graphics card another life, you need to disassemble it and have hot soldering to heat the graphics processor to melt the solder and then cool it down, and you mustn't touch it, otherwise it will come off... Anyway, after that, it works again. It's the same with all HP, ASUS laptops, etc.

The only solution: a tube of Vaseline, a large trash can, and a little money to buy a new PC. And of course, not one of those Fujitsu crap.

same for me honestly too much crap fudjitsu and on top of that they don't respond!!!

I'm going to give them a gift in ads!!!!

For the price they sell their phones they should offer a warranty exchange for another one!
Plus, a year after the known issue they were still selling the xa 2528 in stores!!!

    fudjitsu = crap

    @Aurore3066 :)
You know that a manufacturer can very well take advantage of a return for a PC under warranty for a more or less trivial breakdown and take the opportunity to change, without you knowing, one or more parts that they have ultimately discovered to be problematic. This might be what happened to you since it's still under warranty. The difference for most of us is that our PCs break down shortly after the warranty period ends. For me, it was 3 months later. Here, given the number of cases, we're talking about hidden defects, and legally, they have reason to be concerned. Today, they offered to exchange my 17" for a 15.6" that is a bit more powerful. I declined the offer because I want to keep the 17". Negotiations are ongoing for a 17", but I haven't heard back from them since my last email last week. There you go.

And why does mine work correctly? I’m a computer scientist by profession, so I know a bit about my PCs. I have an Acer desktop (499€, so not top quality) that is 5 years old today and still in super good condition.
I have my Amilo laptop, just one problem, so there you go.
One shouldn’t also belittle brands just because at one point they made a computer that had a problem.
Put yourself in their shoes a little; I spend 35 hours a week doing IT, so I know what it’s like...

      Good evening Arff,
I see I'm not the only one having issues with Fujitsu....
Have you received a response to your last email sent to Fujitsu? Personally, I have the same issue with my machine which has been in repair since October. In January, they offered me a 15.6-inch model like yours, which I did not accept. The advisor told me that another 17-inch machine would be offered to me at the end of February.
Last Monday, without any response from them, I called once again. It seems they have finally found a spare part and told me they would send my machine back within a week. Personally, I was expecting my old machine, but rather a new machine as promised...
Really disappointed with Fujitsu... For my part, I will not buy any of their machines again, whether personally or for my business; their customer service is really not up to par...

The rest is simple. PC repaired, received, and sold 15 days later, this way, I won't be bothered with it anymore. I feel sorry for the buyer who must have had issues with it. I'm not proud of myself, but that's how it is!!

Yes, you're right. It's too bad for the buyer, but the one to blame is Fujitsu.

I have had the same problem since I bought my Amilo Notebook Li 3910. It has gone for repair three times for the same issue, and no exchange is possible. I couldn't use it, and now it is out of warranty. Do not buy Fujitsu; moreover, the customer service is very dishonest with clients. Definitely do not buy this brand. Oliver

Hello everyone, I have the same problem as you. My computer worked for a year and a half and now, since this morning, it's impossible to start. The fan runs at first, then the screen goes black. I went to see a computer technician who told me it was probably the motherboard or the graphics card that was on the motherboard, so whatever happens, the motherboard needs to be replaced. My warranty has expired, so I had no choice. I still sent an email to customer service in an aggressive tone because once is enough, but twice is too much, especially since their model has a defect with the graphics card and the Wi-Fi card. There is an incompatibility between the two cards that causes the PC to crash even more. The only possibility they offered me was to send me a free Wi-Fi router, but with the out-of-bundle charges incurred while calling them, it was hard to ask.

Why delete several interesting and relevant comments, all those sharing their disastrous experiences with Fujitsu's equipment and customer service? Freedom of expression, damn it!!!!

You can always request coverage for a tube of petroleum jelly. Give it a try, it might work; it costs them much less than covering their junk PCs and it's also cheaper than properly operating a nonexistent customer service.

    Hello,

    I also bought a Fujitsu-Siemens xa 2528

in 2008, zero customer service from both the seller and Fujitsu-Siemens

Am I an idiot? Yes, I am.

My advice / if you want to get screwed, then buy a Fujitsu Siemens with a trash can

    Here's the translation:

Well, let me tell you about my problem. The issue I just had is that I bought a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo AX2528 two years ago, and the graphics card just failed on me. I called Fujitsu, and they told me that this issue is recognized by their service, but they said they can't cover it since it's been two years since I bought my PC. They only cover a maximum of 18 months. The moral of the story is, if you want to get ripped off, buy a Fujitsu that you'll pay 800 euros for and can use for a maximum of two years before it becomes disposable! Spread the word by copying and pasting.

Siemens has dropped Fujitsu, and it's for a reason! And I haven't seen any Fujitsu on the shelves for quite a while now!!! The ship is sinking, and that's just fine.

The chips that heat up as you say, it's not Fujitsu that manufactures them, so this issue must also affect other brands.
Nvidia is starting to annoy a lot of people, it's incredible that the number one graphics card manufacturer makes such blunders.
Anyway, I'm going to prioritize ATI from now on (even if it's not the best for Linux).

Same laptop, dead 1 year and 3 months later. Warning signs: fan running almost all the time before the graphics card failed.
However, immediate support from the manufacturer. Received an email with a document discussing a PC exchange to sign + a Chronopost shipping label, package sent the next day at their expense. In repair for 10 days (work tracking online).
Exchange / repair? I don’t know yet, actually. Wait and see
A refund would be ideal because I’m disappointed with this brand.
True anecdote: the desktop PCs at my work are from this brand (which is why it influenced my choice back then) and they're failing one after another (5 today) over the past few weeks.

The video card of my FUJITSU AMILO Xa 2528 failed after 2 years yesterday. The warranty has expired, and the price of a card is over €200. Fujitsu is charging me astronomical fees for the repair because it's no longer under warranty.
Poor customer service, I do not recommend this brand at all.
