Only the LF/LH/LU share the same motherboard/Linux.

You can find universal remotes for less than €10 at discount stores (Aldi, Lidl...)
And they can be resold on eBay....
Otherwise, you can borrow one from a friend: there's probably someone who has one...

For more information, Google is my friend ;-)

Well, with all that, I think we have no excuses left not to get the USB port to work!

Thank you very much for all this information!!!

      Have a nice evening.

Bonjour, j'ai suivi les instructions à la lettre, mais aucun menu ne s'affiche ensuite et pourtant ma clé clignote. Pourriez-vous m'aider ? Merci.

      Hello P'tit_Philou

Check out Gardmachin's post from January 27, 2011, here: https://forums.commentcamarche.net/forum/affich-20665353-lire-video-via-usb-sur-tv-lg-37ld450#p23692469

As for me, I took the liberty of adding this on November 19, 2011:

"I bought a ONE FOR ALL remote model URC-7110 (the simplest one) at a CORA store for €14.99 (11/17/2011).

      I tried Gardmachin's method (post from January 27, 2011).
With my LG 32LE4500 LED TV, the code to enter is 2182.
Then I entered the 3-digit code (for my TV, it was a 5-digit code = 00018), then the password = 0413.
And we go to the menu "Tool option 3", and, on the second line, we have the DivX value (1=enabled - 0=disabled).
To exit this menu, press "EXIT". "

And of course, I thanked Gardmachin.

My uncle bought an LG TV 50PQR-TA, but the USB port is not working; it is said to be disabled. Can anyone help me activate it?

      Hello adama,

To help you reactivate your uncle's LG TV, I will rewrite my post from 01/21/2012 posted here: https://forums.commentcamarche.net/forum/affich-19364957-lire-un-film-sur-cle-usb-avec-sa-tv#p23693199

To activate the USB port on an LG TV, here are the steps to follow with a universal remote control (which must, to be effective, have a button labeled "magic").
I personally bought a ONE FOR ALL remote model URC-7110 (the simplest one) at a CORA store for €14.99 (11/17/2011).

Warning: during the following steps 2 to 5, nothing you do with the remote will appear on the screen.

1 - Turn on the TV with the remote
2 - Press and hold the "magic" button until the blue LED at the top of the remote blinks twice before staying on permanently
3 - Enter a code (see below) 4 - Confirm by pressing the Magic button once
5 - Enter the code 00018 (if 00018 does not work, try 018)
6 - A window appears on the screen asking for the password
      7 - Enter the code 0413
8 - A menu titled "EZ ADJUST" appears on the screen. Using the remote navigator, scroll down to the line titled "2.Tool Option 3".
9 - Using the remote navigator, go to the right
10 - In the second line, you will see the DivX value (1=enabled - 0=disabled)
Correct this value to display the number "1".
11 - Exit this menu by pressing the "Exit" button on the remote.

      The code corresponding to step 3 will depend on your LG TV model, and it will be one of the following codes: 1423 - 2182 - 0178 - 1663 - 0037 - 1305 - 0009 - 0556 - 0714 - 0606 - 0109 - 0698 - 0715 - 1721 - 1681 - 2057 - 000.

Excuse me for the double post, but when I check my version it's V3.07. I tried updating to 3.15, but nothing happens after pressing FAV seven times... :(

      You can't!
If you read the forum information, this model is not compatible, period.

Tapenade, you need to click on Menu, go to Options (don't click on OK) to enter Options, just hover the cursor over it. Then click 7 times on "FAV" on your remote.
And there you go, a pop-up will ask you to install the firmware :)
    See you!

Good evening, I would like to get some clarifications because I still can't unlock the USB port of my LG LH3000
I would like to do it with a T'NB bluepad universal remote. At the risk of asking stupid questions, I prefer to ask before doing anything reckless.
(My LG model is version 3.55)

So first, if I understand correctly, it's not necessary to downgrade if we want to unlock with a remote control? (or is it pointless)

I program my remote to recognize my LCD, then do I need to do anything else before doing the OK manipulation on the LCD?
Because I tried OK on the LG remote and OK on the LCD but nothing happens.

Thanks, a little help would be appreciated ;p

Downgrading the firmware is unnecessary if you use a compatible universal remote.
You need to program a compatible LG code on the remote and then find the right maneuver to open the EZ Adjust menu.
No need to press OK on the TV and the remote, this is only for version 3.15.

      Try [SETUP] then [--/-]
      Or find a listed remote.
After that, you just need to be able to read...

      - With the LG remote, enter the password 0000
      - Go to "2.Tool Option3"
      - Change "EMF (JPEG,MP3)" from "0" to "1"
      - Change "Divx" from "OFF" to "HD"
      - Use the Back button on the remote to exit the menu.

Well, it must be true: if it’s not on the list, then it probably doesn’t work…
However, you can always give it a try and let us know, but if no site mentions it, it’s likely that it’s not the same motherboard/OS.

    Hello,
I'm unable to change the firmware; I have version v03.24.00 and want to install v3.15. I followed the steps by going to options and pressing 7 times on fav. I see the software update screen (Expert) appear, but after that, I can't do anything. I can't select the version I want to install. I tried downloading the v3.15 firmware from the links, but how do I get it onto my TV?
I'm a bit lost; even following the tutorials, it's not working as they say. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

Hello Tapenade, thanks for getting back to me. I'll try the steps you mentioned and of course, I'll keep you updated. I have one last question before I dive in: my TV is an LG 32LF2510, and if I understand correctly from what I've read here and there, it's the same as the 32LF2500, so there shouldn't be any issues doing this with my TV, right? Just want to be sure before I start.
    Thank you.

    Hello,

I went to the link that explains the procedures, but my version is V3.65 and I don't know if I can perform these actions since my version is indeed higher than V3.15 and does not fall into the two non-recommended versions 3.47 - 3.48. However, it is not listed, so is it compatible with the procedures or not?

I was mistaken, my version is v3.63 and not v3.65.

Hello, I have a little issue (actually a pretty big one!!)
I updated to 3.15 to enable USB. So far, so good. I was able to activate it! But the image was off, so I reverted to the initial update 3.40, and it's still the same: the image is off. I wanted to reverse the process, go back to 3.15 and cancel the USB activation, but when I did the update, the TV permanently turned off. I hope my TV isn’t broken. Can someone help me??? Please

No one has helped me yet. I had asked for advice from a specialist in my circle. He told me to return it under warranty (it's only 2 months old), saying that the TV had turned off and restarted twice. When it turned back on, the image was blurry and misaligned, then nothing. He said it should go through because in these new TVs, everything is managed electronically by internal memory, which can indeed be affected in this way.
So, I'm waiting for news about the return of my TV and I'll keep you updated!

    Good evening,
I haven't seen my TV mentioned at any point, what about the LD series?
I'm sure it can be unlocked, but the 5-second method on ok/ok doesn't work.
    Any ideas?

    Hello,

I'm in the same situation; I've searched extensively but can't find a way to unlock my USB port.

I have a 32LD550, a relatively recent television; I bought it blindly since no tests have been done online regarding it, it seems like nobody is familiar with it.

I purchased this television from Boulanger, and the seller assured me that I could play my videos... But no, just audio files and photos...

Does anyone have a solution for this model?

Hi, I think that for now we can't connect the USB directly to the TV, we need to go through your computer or another player. Apparently, there will be an update to make this possible, but I don't know when. I hope this message helps you.
