I recently bought a Familitchi Tamagotchi, and my characters have started sleeping without me touching anything, and they won't stop sleeping.
What should I do? (besides pressing the reset button)

Look at the time by pressing button B and change the time by pressing buttons A and C at the same time.
He did the same to me and no matter how I changed the time, it didn't change anything. I didn't want to reset it, so I waited a day and a night, and the next day it was no longer sleeping. In my opinion, it's just a bug, and the only thing to do is to wait (or to reset it).
It's normal because just like us, Tamagotchis sleep (I think from 10 PM to 7 AM) and for mllex3, if it's your first time playing and they are just babies, it's normal that they sleep because they take naps, but otherwise when they grow up, as soon as they become children or teenagers or adults, they won't take naps anymore because they are grown.
