Viamichelin route to GARMIN GPS

MIMOSA -

Hello,

I purchased a NUVI 250W GPS, and I can only choose the shortest or fastest route.
I would like to transfer a ViaMichelin route to my GPS to go to LIVORNO in ITALY passing through Belgium, Luxembourg, and Switzerland, and to avoid paying for highways, but I can't manage to do it.
How do I do this? Do I need to put the route on an SD card, and how?
I didn’t receive a CD with my GPS, and I don't understand what MAPSOURCE is; is it software to install on my computer to allow transfer to my GPS?
Thank you for answering me to prepare for my departure.
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 8.0

    Hello,

Have you found a solution because I'm experiencing the same problem as you?

Long-time user of Via Michelin, it was easy to transfer the GPX file to the GPS memory card. But recently, with the change of the site, there’s no more possibility to do it: the icons at the bottom of the map no longer exist. I asked the online representative of Via Michelin who replied that for now it is no longer possible. Only printing or saving is feasible. Such a shame. Will it be possible later????

Indeed, I just created a route with Viamichelin, but I don't see any way to export it or save a file! ... I can do it with Tyretotravel, but I preferred the Michelin maps!!

You need to place the created file in the Garmin/gpx directory of the GPS and you will find the route in your favorites on the GPS.

it doesn't work by putting it in this directory "Garmin/gpx" and a single waypoint is not enough, I don't even try

It works. You need to download ITN converter and then export the itinerary to garmin/gpx.

You need to install ITN converter. With this software, you open the file you imported from Michelin and save it in the GPX directory of your GPS. In your GPS, go to tools, then import a route. Be careful, the route is not in favorites, but in routes. When using it, you will notice that your GPS recalculates a new route and you did all this for nothing...

I don't want to alarm you, and I'm not too familiar with the specific model "255w," but on mine (Garmin Nüvi 310), Garmin customer service just confirmed to me that the model does not support "complex routes." That is to say, all we are allowed to do is provide a starting point, an ending point, and a single waypoint in between. --> misery... Therefore, it is impossible to export, in GPX or otherwise, from viamichelin or Google Maps... I think the problem is the same for you.

I created an itinerary crossing FRANCE with VIAMICHELIN
I followed the export of the file in gpx to my GPS which was successfully entered, but when I display the destination: nothing.
