Hello,
My SONY DSC T300 digital camera starts to vibrate very strongly after taking about 10 pictures... the image shakes uncontrollably and I can no longer focus it... Has anyone experienced this kind of problem and how can it be resolved?
I bought this camera in Thailand three months ago because I lost mine there... the manual is therefore in English and I can't use it.. If any of you can help me, thank you...

Same problem with a DSC-T300 purchased in the USA in April 2008. It’s an issue with the lens (see the Sony.com site regarding this problem with the DSC-T20). It was repaired in the USA in April 2009 under warranty, and the lens was replaced.
The same malfunction has just occurred after 8 months. I am in negotiations with Sony US to have it repaired again. Apparently, Sony has a defect with the lenses mounted on the DSC T-20 and T-300.

Thank you Dany for your response... in fact I think I only have to throw my device in the trash and go buy another one elsewhere... because Sony doesn't want to know anything... not very customer-friendly... but maybe they don't need that... Best regards and Happy New Year to you and your loved ones... Marie Jo
I have the same problem with a SONY DSC-T300 bought in 2008 in FRANCE. I contacted SONY's customer service, and since the warranty had expired, I didn't have it repaired because apparently the cost would be high. I bought this device for nearly 300 €, and I find it shameful on SONY's part not to have covered it under warranty at the time. I will not promote SONY at all, quite the opposite, and from this day on, I will not buy any devices from this brand. I'm also going to throw it in the trash. Jean-Pierre

Hello,
I had the same issue with my Sony device, totally crippling for its use.
So I switched to another device (Sony expert compact), but while browsing online I came across methods that could solve this problem, apparently related to the steadyshot function (image stabilizer):
http://crisqv.blogspot.com/2013/10/sony-dsc-t300-vibrating-problem.html
There are 2 methods, the second one is quite drastic as it involves opening the device to remove a component.
Another method:
Try a power reset on the camera and check if that helps:
Turn off the camera.
Remove the battery from the battery compartment.
Let the camera sit without power for 30 seconds.
Reinsert the battery into the battery compartment.
Turn on the camera.
Attempt to press the MENU button.

Hello Cha571, the best solution is, if you want to send it to me, because I know how to repair the T300. You can call me at 0617065374. Best regards.
Hello,
For several Sonu DCS-XXX references, the vibration problem is very simple.
Without any technical knowledge, in 10 minutes and with only a small PHOO cross screwdriver to remove the small screws (2 euros at any hardware store), you will easily be able to solve it.
The vibration comes from a malfunction of a gadget (the image stabilizer). You just need to disconnect it. It's located behind the lens.
You'll find several videos on YouTube showing how to do it.
The simplest one in my opinion:

Don't panic if the device being handled is not exactly the same as yours; the inside is very similar, if not identical.
Happy repairing,
Gilles

I have the same problem with my DSC-T20 camera, the camera vibrated non-stop as soon as I turned it on. I took the camera apart and under the lens (behind the lens) I removed some kind of cable (I don't know the name =S) that was hooked on some sort of clip and now there is no vibration at all. I don't know if it's advisable to remove this thing, but there is no more vibration now.
On SONY DSCT300, I'm encountering the same Oscillation problem right from the start of the device, and the photos are blurry. I just sent a message to SONY customer service and I'm waiting for a response.
Hello,
I have the same vibration issue with a SONY DSC H3, which is no longer under warranty. I got a quote for the repair: 230 euros!
I asked to retrieve it for the sum of 25 euros (the price of the quote).

I have the same problem with my T300 that was given to me two years ago... it started acting up after two years, who knows where it came from... I'm hesitant to switch to the Canon IXUS 130 or to repair the Sony; considering how much the device cost back then, it's quite disappointing... what would be the best solution then?
Hello,
I have a DSC-TX7 that has been vibrating for months. I bought it abroad, and I don't know where to send it for repair. I'm still under warranty.
I'm surprised that with so many products, they haven't managed to eliminate this issue. I had the T100, T200, and T900 before, and they all seem to be affected by this problem according to what I've read.
Thank you in advance.
