Unable to read dvd in french

Hello,

I just bought a DVD, and when I put it in my DVD player, I select the French language
but the movie starts in English. I can't play it in French. I tried on another player, but I have the same issue.
Can someone help me?

      thank you for looking into my case.
      There is indeed a version in French; I just fiddled with the DVD and it works in French now
