Hello everyone. I recently bought a Samsung LCD TV, model LE40B551, which according to its specifications has an HD Tuner.
However, I can't pick up any digital channels. I've searched for the problem on several forums, and many mention a DTV mode that needs to be accessed via the remote control. But either I'm blind or I don't have that button on my remote. So, well, I have no idea how to get digital channels.
For your information, I am using cable. On the upstairs TV (I'm in a basement room, but with cable it shouldn't matter), I have digital channels through a Neuf decoder, but when I don't turn on the decoder, I still receive some HD channels via the cable. So normally, even downstairs, without a decoder, I should be able to receive some digital channels.
I hope you can help me, thank you in advance =), have a good evening.

I had the same issue and no button on the remote
you need to go to the menu => configuration => plug and play and redo a channel search
Be careful not to make the mistake: you should not choose CABLE but TERRESTRIAL because even the digital channels go through this mode! then choose digital and you're good to go! -
Hello
I finally believe that at LG, the cousin has a button A/D for analog/digital, digital being the TNT. Now when you did the installation in the startup menu of the TV, it must have automatically scanned the channels and told you what it found: XX analog channels and YY digital channels. If it didn’t display that, redo your installation, provided that your antenna receives the TNT, and that’s not guaranteed; you’ll find out by scanning again. A++ -
Hello
open your eyes, there is a button (see NOTICE) on the remote control, no matter what its name is, that allows you to switch from analog reception to digital reception. There you will find with + - channels on your remote control the programs that your TV has memorized. It is also necessary to be sure that
- firstly, there is TNT at your antenna socket? collective or personal antenna??
- secondly: that this TNT has good "quality/signal" sufficient otherwise "black screen"
Go get information on the site of
www.tvnt.net where you can locate yourself geographically in relation to a transmitter, there are plenty of tips and people who share their experiences because TNT is not that easy!
Good luck -
Hello Italien57
I hope your issue has been resolved. I'm considering buying the same LCD TV as you. Are you happy with your purchase?
Thank you in advance for your reply. -
On the remote control, there is a TV/DTV button; switch to DTV mode and then make the adjustment; and there you go.

No, you are not blind, nor am I visually impaired:

If you press the TV button at the top right, you can change the mode... -
THANK YOU!!!! I was stubbornly searching in "cable" mode and not "radio" mode, so it wasn't yielding anything! Now it seems like it's heading in the right direction!
