Hello alx69,
There's no need for negatives, just a good scanner and a small image processing software like PhotoFiltre to realign and crop, and possibly touch up or change the look. When photos are scanned, they become exactly digital images like those taken with a digital camera, thus without negatives; in this case, it's useless to have a negative. The negative only matters for film photos, but since these images are digitized by the scanner and saved on the PC, we treat them like digital ones: without negatives. Then if we want to put them on a USB stick, burn them to a DVD or CD, there are no particular problems and for sure it won’t cost €1.50 per photo, plus nothing or nobody prevents you from having them printed again on paper by a photographer later without printing all seventy-five images at once: you can just bring your disk or USB stick and have only two or three printed at a time...

The price of software is inversely proportional to its usability...
