Open a Notepad file, copy and paste on the same line:

Output.extension-video-you-want

Then save the Notepad file under the name "assemble.bat"
and place it in the folder where the two videos you want to assemble are located.

Double-click on your "assemble.bat" file.
A DOS window will open. Let it run and be patient.
It's done.

The question of video file assembly is not so simple. The assembly by concatenation of files using a DOS command or a .bat file only works correctly with .ts or .m2ts type videos. Moreover, one must be cautious when using wildcard characters like *.*, as in this case the order in which the files will be joined is not controlled.
For any other type of video (vob, mp4, mov, etc...), the files will indeed be assembled, but when attempting to play the result, only the first video file will be read.
For these types of files, it all depends on the requirements one has. Movie Maker, for example, allows the assembly of many types of files, but there is re-encoding, which means potential quality loss, and moreover the operation takes a lot of time.
As I mentioned in my previous post, the software SUPER (take the paid version, not too expensive, otherwise serious issues regarding the installation of unwanted adware heavily polluting the computer) works well and without quality loss.
However:
- you can only assemble files with the same characteristics
- it may be necessary, in case of unrecognized formats, to download and install the latest update of SUPER (free, if you have a regularly installed and paid version)
