Hello,

Depending on the cable I use to connect my VCR to the TV, it works or it doesn't: why?

VCR TV

scart scart OK

scart RCA KO

I have tried several cables so I exclude a faulty cable a priori...

Is there a trick that I am missing?

Thank you for your help.

Problème de branchement ou de sources. Dans quel sens "en gros la péritel est branchée sur quoi et le RCA est branché sur quoi ?"

If I replace the SCART cable that allows me to correctly play a VHS tape on the TV with a SCART (VCR) RCA (TV) cable, nothing happens on the screen.

If I do the same thing by connecting the RCA to the PC (video capture card): same result, nothing comes through.

I tried with another SCART to RCA converter: same issue.

Good evening, is your SCART/RCA connection made via an adapter or is it a single cable? Are you sure it's wired in the direction SCART to RCA? On the TV, you need to manually switch to the correct input, which is not necessary with SCART 'RGB' as the TV automatically switches.

    Thank you for your help...

I finally bought a new RCA SCART cable (an expensive one, 15 euros!) and it works.

The new 6 euro cable was probably not expensive enough (sniff).
