Calcul on order in Excel

Hello,

I have a quite heavy Excel file, and to prevent Excel from slowing down due to constant recalculations, I set tools/options/calculation to manual (with recalculation before saving).
The issue is that I have another file, which is shared within the company, and as soon as someone else opens this file over the network, their Excel settings automatically change to manual calculation. I know this, but it's very annoying for my colleagues who think Excel is not working on calculations! They thus need to remember to press F9 to recalculate Excel.

What can I do to eliminate this inconvenience?

Thank you in advance,

Arnaud
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 8.0

    Good evening,

I don't mind pressing F9 to perform the calculation at my request, but what I would like is for it not to disrupt the Excel configuration on other computers!

    Thanks in advance,

    Arnaud

Why do you want this to disrupt the configuration of other workstations???
    f9 = f9 on all workstations

    The choice is yours:
Either you explain to your colleagues that they need to use F9, or you remove your calculation blocking option every morning before going to work.

    Hello,

The issue I have is that on my workstation, I am set to "manual calculation" and I perform calculations on my workstation using the F9 key. Since some office colleagues are using another Excel file on the network that I also created, opening this file disrupts their "automatic calculation" setting to "manual calculation," which they do not want.
Is there a way to prevent Excel from changing my colleagues' settings while the shared file is created in "manual calculation"?

    Thank you in advance,

    Arnaud

So it is the second term of my alternative that needs to be applied.
Because to my knowledge what you want is not feasible (unless a specialist like m@rina had a miracle solution ...).
