Hello,

Yesterday while I was on my computer, Privacy Center launched by itself even though I didn't download it, it appeared suddenly and now I can no longer access my computer at all because as soon as I log in my screen is completely black and I only have the window with Privacy Center and that's it. I can't do anything else.
Could you please help me?
Configuration: Windows Vista Internet Explorer 7.0

    Well, I think I have a solution.

I did it and it worked for my friend ^^

    Launch the task manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del)
Click on File => New task (run)
There, you type MSConfig, a new window will allow you to access the restore point.
Go to Tools and then click on System Restore.
Let this utility guide you by making sure to choose a date that ensures a clean installation.
Your computer will restart and everything should work normally
Just do a scan of your PC to search for viruses or spyware or other junk.
I haven't identified the name of the bug that infected his PC yet, but I'm not giving up ^^

    Hoping to have helped you....

Nours, that's impressive what you found ^^
Unfortunately, in the "File" menu of my task manager, I only have "Close Task Manager" =S

Don't reply to me by message, I can't access it.

    Hello:

Disable User Account Control (you will reactivate it after your disinfection):

    - Go to "Start" then Control Panel.
    - Double click on the User Accounts icon and on Enable or Disable User Account Control.
    - Click Continue.
    - Uncheck the box Use User Account Control to help protect your computer.
    - Confirm by clicking OK and restart.

    Tutorial

    then:

    Download Superantispyware (SAS)

Choose "save" and save it on your desktop.

Double-click on the installation icon that just appeared and follow the instructions.

Create an icon on the desktop.

Double-click on the SAS icon (a head in a red circle with a cross) to launch it.

    - If the tool asks you to update the program ("update the program definitions", click yes.
    - Under Configuration and Preferences, click the "Preferences" button
    - Click on the "Scanning Control" tab
    - In "Scanner Options", make sure the box next to the following lines is checked:

    Close browsers before scanning
    Scan for tracking cookies
    Terminate memory threats before quarantining
    - Leave the other lines unchecked.

    - Click the "Close" button to exit the control center screen.

    - In the main window, click on "Scan for Harmful Software", then "Scan your computer".

In the left column, check C:\Fixed Drive.

In the right column, under "Complete scan", click on "Perform Complete Scan"

Click "next" to start the scan. Wait during the scan.

At the end of the scan, a results window will open. Click OK.

Make sure all lines in the white window are checked and click "Next".

Everything found will be quarantined. If prompted to restart the computer ("reboot"), click Yes.

To copy the information on the forum, do this:

    - after restarting the computer, double-click on the icon to launch SAS.
    - Click on "Preferences" then on the "Statistics/Logs" tab.
    - In "scanners logs", double-click on SUPERAntiSpyware Scan Log.

    - The report will open in your default text editor.

    - Copy its content into your response.

Check the SUPERAntiSpyware tutorial it is very well explained. --

      Hello
I have a friend who has exactly the same problem on Vista.
It's impossible to access Windows, even less the start menu...
Whether in normal mode or safe mode...
And from the task manager, it doesn't help either
I think it's a virus or something like that, but how can he remove it?

Hello, I had the same problem. You just need to start the PC in safe mode, go to another administrator account to access the start menu, then go to the control panel, then go to add or remove a program and uninstall the spyware from Privacy Center. It worked well for me. Good luck!

Hi, I had the same problem. I, who have Vista, did ctrl alt delete and then opened the task manager, then File -> new task (run) -> then you have to enter C:\Windows\explorer.exe

Once you have opened that, you will go back to Windows and then go to programs and features and uninstall Privacy Center. After that, I recommend doing a virus scan to see if there is anything left from that software.
