Thank you badboy59 for trying to help me. I’m at work and I can describe my problem more easily:

Here it is, my PC has been running fine for several months (I’m on XP Home Edition SP1). I recently installed a USB Bluetooth dongle so my PC can exchange data with my Sony K700i phone. I wanted to emulate the keyboard with my phone by installing the Bluetooth option "Keyboard + mouse".

Since then, I can no longer use my standard keyboard (it doesn’t work anymore). Every time I start my PC, it asks me to finish the installation of "bluetooth virtual HIB mouse" but it seems to not find the appropriate driver. I kill the install and go to the Device Manager under the Keyboard entry. I see that there are now 2 entries:
    - Standard 101… Keyboard
    - PIH Keyboard Device

But I can’t uninstall the "PIH Keyboard Device"... the process stalls and I’m forced to kill it.

How can I remove this entry that prevents my standard keyboard from working properly?

    Thanks

start and then run typing msconfig
    otherwise it should be in
    :\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386

I don’t see an entry of this type in “Add / Remove Programs”...

Do I need to finish the install before uninstalling it, considering that despite my online searches I can’t find a driver for this entry (bluetooth virtual HIB mouse) ?

Can’t we intervene in the registry?

For information, even in “safe mode” I can’t uninstall this entry, the same after completely removing the Bluetooth software — there’s no uninstall option... the uninstall process locks up :(

It is likely that the installer is in the XP startup. to check with msconfig.

It may be desirable to complete the installation in order to possibly have access to the uninstallation.

    good luck

How do I check that the installer is in XP startup? How to check with msconfig?
If that’s the case, can I remove the install from XP startup? to then uninstall this entry via Device Manager?
And by the way does "Good luck" mean you don’t know what else to explore to try to help me?
Finally thanks for looking into my problem :)

Knowing that I will try the bad boy route tonight, have any other people explored other investigative leads?
