Printer not activated error code 41?????

Hello,
what solution can be provided so that the EPSON DX74OO printer connected to a laptop can be operational? I’m currently getting, printer not activated error code 41???? even though a green arrow is properly positioned on the printer name in the configuration table; the printer works fine when not connected to the computer. I am on Vista. please kindly help me troubleshoot AND have a nice day Jacqueline
