I visited the site touslesdrivers.com and I did a hardware detection. It found drivers for: - The mouse - The keyboard - The graphics card - The motherboard But not for the external CD drive; however, the last line at the bottom of the driver list that I can update caught my attention: "IDE bridge (Driver poorly installed) Manufacturer: Freecom Technologies"  I don't know if that corresponds to the CD drive?

I marked it as resolved because I finally bought an external DVD writer (which is very small, so better than the one where I was looking for the driver).
