Busy line issue with Free calls Solved

Question

Hello,

I have an issue with Free, I bought two landline phones (Sagem D26V and Alcatel Versatis D300). People can call me and we can talk, but I can't make calls. The number dials, and a busy tone rings 5 times and then nothing. Free has "supposedly" tested my line and said it is "supposedly" fine. They eventually told me that my phone is not compatible with the Freebox. They said that only phones where the keys make different sounds work (e.g., the 1 has one sound, the 2 another sound, the 3 yet another...). Can you tell me if you had the same problem and if so, what phone you have with Free as their list is outdated.

I discovered that on my Alcatel Versatis D300, it is noted in the problems that if I cannot make calls with ADSL, it is necessary to configure my phone for voice frequencies, but they don't say how to do it, and I can't find it. I searched through my entire phone and the manual. Has anyone figured out how to configure it for voice frequencies?

--you need a decimal numbering desk, like most recent desks; for my part, needing 2 desks (1 in the office and 1 in security in the room) I opted for a wireless set with integrated digital answering machine "siemens gigaset S455 sim!! it works very well and they are really very efficient (automatic updating of contacts from one desk to another, slot to copy directly to your phone all the directory from your sim card), and total compatibility with my freebox.

Thank you for your help, but the Siemens Gigaset S455 SIM costs €145 and I can't afford to pay that much. I'm looking for a very simple phone.

--if you go to the hifi video section of a big store, you'll find a bunch of compatible phones at nice prices! still, avoid the lesser-known brands for reliability reasons. you can find siemens, philips, or others at low prices even if you won't necessarily have an integrated answering machine or other gadgets. otherwise, try e-bay, there are good deals.

I tried to connect my phone at a friend's place who has Free's unbundled service and it works. I've had my Freebox changed and I'm still having the same issue: outgoing calls ring busy 5 times and then nothing.

Help me, I beg you; in the meantime, I'm paying for a phone I don't have...

Summary:
- I can't make calls but I can receive them
- My phone works at a friend's place, so it's not the vocal frequency
- My Freebox has just been changed, so it's not that

I have a similar problem to yours, chichoulaly.

What surprises me is that it worked before, now it doesn't work anymore (for a week).
I haven't changed anything at all (same phone, same box, no changes in settings...)

If anyone has the real answer to the problem... I'm curious to know the explanation.
There must have been a change on the operator's side...!

In response to trilibibi and chichoulay at Free, Neuf Tel, and others, the problem is the same: we receive calls but cannot make them if the phone used does not have a setting for "voice and decimal frequencies." Even very old phones have this setting in the form of bar settings inside and work very well with ADSL. For recent phones, you need to go to the menu and then change the frequency (voice or decimal). Try both as one of them is definitely the right one. For phones that do not have this setting, forget it...

I have a Logicom Riva 252 and similarly, I can't receive or make calls with Free (by the way, I agree they completely disregard their customers)
Anyway, my old fax phone from the Stone Age works...
And yet I've tried both frequencies, voice or decimal, but nothing works... Can someone help me?

Same problem with Alcatel Versatis D300 duo, it is already on FV.
After that, the customer service told me to reset the settings to default, if that doesn't work (which is the case), contact your dealer (I haven't done that yet). I see that many people have this problem, and I tend to think it's more about the Freebox since I'm not on total unbundling. (Free obviously doesn't know anything about it.)

I'm using an old wired phone at the moment, and it works very well.

It's annoying; I have two floors, so there you go... knowing that this phone works very well for others.
