Once the part of the text to be "highlighted" is selected:
• Activate the character formatting command in the control palette (ALT+CTRL+7) and in the same palette, in the local menu > Underline options (or ALT_click on the underline button). You choose the thickness, the offset (relative to the baseline), the color…

Hello, I didn't quite understand where these options are: thickness, offset (from the baseline), color... I have InDesign CS5 in English, I couldn't find them in the character styles either... Thanks!!
