Hello to you!
Here I am, I had to reinstall my Windows while carefully copying the backups of Mirrors Edge that were in the folder documents/EAGAMES/mirrors edge/savfiles (I'm on Vista). The problem is that after reinstalling my Windows I reinstalled Mirrors Edge and put the backups back in their respective folder, but the game doesn't see them and asks me to start the game from the beginning :(
If anyone has a solution, I'm all ears!

It's very very simple, I'll explain to you, Mirror's Edge works like Call of Duty.
That is to say that in your save file, the CD key used to play is embedded.
Like the majority of people, you have what we call a keygen that randomly gives you CD keys to install your game; unfortunately, as long as you haven't reinstalled your game with the same CD key as the previous time, you won't be able to restore your save.
I agree that games are too expensive in France, but this is the kind of thing that happens when you don't own the official version of the game.

precision: for those who did not use the keygen but the CD
just copy the backup file into the directory mentioned above, renaming it to the name of the session used to launch mirror's edge
for example, if you were previously playing under the session session1 and now your session is called session2, delete the file session2 from the backup directory and rename the file session1 to session2
that should normally work
