But there is a mistake: it's neither "some live in better," nor "some live it better" or "some even better," but "SOUND EVEN BETTER," which means "it's even better." I’m not going to give a translation lesson on SOUND. It would take too long, but SOUND, like TASTE, FEEL, etc., is difficult to translate when followed by an adjective. We would get closer to the exact meaning by saying "by hearing it (sound) it's…", "by tasting it (TASTE) it's…", "by touching it (FEEL) it's…", but that's not very French.

I think Champmotteux was right, since he then says something like "We used to played". So I think "used to" would mean to have a habit. At the beginning, the translation would be "We used to say ...". Then it would be "We had the habit of ... playing ...". But I'm not sure about the verb.
