The goreiest film in France is banned for sale => Martyrs -18 and me, who is a horror freak, I could hardly stand this film.. (Worse than Hostel, Saw, and others...)

I watched Valentine Murder, personally I expected better in terms of story and special effects.. For a 2009 release, I’d say it feels more like something from the 90s... Well, that's what I think. Otherwise I agree with you on Martyrs which is one of the goriest films I’ve seen, the most violent you could say. For Frontières, excellent film with French actors who are super well trained and play comedy really well.
I also watched The Last House on the Left, not bad but there’s better, I’d say The Hills Have Eyes (the first one) is still better in terms of story and terrifying scenes.

I really enjoyed his films and I can add others like House of Wax, Wolf Creek, Vacancy 1 and 2, The Ring... and I think EXORCIST does not give any chills at all.
- you will learn that for the film "The Exorcist" there are 2 versions, the first one which is available in France and which I admit is lousy, but there is also a second version, the one that caused many people to faint at the time because it contains a subliminal image. this second version is really scary but it is banned in France (and it's not for nothing!).
- There is indeed a “new” version that has been released. It is the basic version with added scenes (which were not kept in the initial cut apparently due to sensitivity issues). This “new” version was released in France and is not banned. It is also available on DVD. I don’t think there is another version... but if there is, I would be curious to have some information (though I strongly doubt the accuracy of that point).

yeah it's possible, but I know that since The Exorcist subliminal images are banned in movies (at least in horror films >= /), and you can check on Wikipedia where it shows the image used ^^.
ps now I'm sure and certain that you can't find this France version I'm wondering if it hasn't even been withdrawn from the market i <= (

Saw is a piece of shit for prepubescent kids, let's talk about real movies. There’s The Shining, Misery (a good claustrophobic thriller), Shutter (Thai film), The Ring is watchable, REC 1, The Blair Witch Project (how to scare someone with a camera, a forest, and three little piles of stones), They (true story)
and there you go, I’m sure I’ve forgotten plenty but oh well.
Most notably, don’t watch Saw, it stinks to high heaven, "oh my god the guy is being cut into pieces, it’s really scary ><> " yeah too cool I’m rebellious I watched Saw at 10, I’m a man ..." and more. -
if we can get out of the fright even if I go to a city I will make my list and put some small comments.
1) the Lord of the Rings trilogy (a bit long-winded but the fights and the graphics are amazing, especially given the release year)
2) the Resident Evils (a magnificent story, very entertaining, those who are afraid of dogs should actually refrain from watching certain passages ^^)
3) the Batman films (it's Batman, make up your own mind)
4) the 3 Jurassic Park films (it's the best dinosaur movie, too bad the 4th Jurassic Park was canceled mid-production, it was supposed to come out in 2009, I was so excited because after how the 3 was made it looked appealing)
5) then I will list them because I find them all good and there is no comment to make except "it's amazing!":
Largo Winch, Iron Man, Transformers 1 and 2, Wanted (choose your destiny), Predictions, the Harry Potters, Eragon, the Spider-Man films, The Hills Have Eyes, Saw, Hellboy, Dragon War, The Reign of Fire, Pirates of the Caribbean, Brice de Nice, the chtis, and many others.

I feel like giving you a +1 because you’re absolutely right! But sometimes I find myself disagreeing with you.. For example the Resident Evil saga, the first one is flawless but for me the next two, I’m really really disappointed. The first one is the one where you see a real zombie movie and not after it’s all about cloning, creations and kung fu ... The first one is the good one.
The Lord of the Rings trilogy, I completely agree with you, great trilogy full of action, hatred and perfect actors.
The Batman films, well I don’t know what to say, I’m not really attached but I really liked the last one The Dark Knight For beautiful special effects, action and a story that goes well and obviously the hatred.
The Jurassic Park, I agree with you completely, superb trilogy, I’ve always loved it even if the second one is my favorite. You said the fourth is cancelled, you’re right (according to Allociné) but if you look further on other sites, the fourth would be planned only if we find a director willing to create it. So let’s pray...
Then your mini-list is nice, I really loved the Spider-Man saga because a fourth is planned too in 2009 with another actor (the journalist from the third who will take control of Peter Parker) I liked the second Transformers but less the first, because there’s more action, more special effects and obviously more humor! Pirates of the Caribbean, I won’t say more, I loved it so much..
On the other hand Dragon Wars, really excellent film!!! A lot of action and special effects so not to be missed.
Anyway, for the other films you listed I won’t say more. I recommend other films to watch and if you’ve already seen them, well good ^^ So, Equilibrium, Hitman, Never Back Down, Quadrilogy of Fast and Furious, the famous Transporters and others like The Tears of the Sun, Hostages, Die Hard, Armageddon with Bruce Willis or Pearl Harbor.

If I had a piece of advice for you, check out hostel motel the grudge whether it's the 1 or the 2 after I haven't seen them yet but the first two aren't bad frontière is really great but you really must not be afraid I’ll admit I had a bit of trouble at times ... there’s also Suspiria which is pretty old but good
