Hello,
is it possible to delete the files or simply overwrite them on Professor Layton? If so, please let me know how. Thanks @You (because honestly, I doubt it's impossible)

For Professor Layton & the Curious Village:

* load the file you want to delete;
* from the menu (accessible by clicking on the chest located at the top right during gameplay), create a save in the same slot;
* as soon as the "saving in progress" contextual prompt appears, remove the game cartridge (neither too early nor too late...);
* turn off the DS;
* reinsert the cartridge;
* turn the DS back on;
* load the game;
* a message will appear saying that a corrupted file has been loaded and will be deleted;
* your old file has been successfully deleted and therefore a new slot has been freed;
* repeat this for each file to delete...
* if it didn't work, try again by adjusting your reaction time at step 3 of the procedure.

For Professor Layton & the Pandora's Box:

* same procedure but deleting ONE file will delete ALL of them, so be warned...

(Solution copied from another site and worked without issue)

When are you taking out the cartridge?

You remove it or it says saving in progress.

Hello,
I couldn't manage with my DS XL alone (about ten attempts) but... with 2 DS! I inserted the game cartridge into the XL, followed the procedure to the letter... and put the cartridge back into the DS Lite and indeed the message "corrupted file" appears and the save is deleted. Thank you.

And do you think it's possible with the 3DS XL?

Thank you, it worked but for me it took a good ten times.

Thank you, I did it for the lost destiny and it worked perfectly on the first try for each recorded part! You just have to be quick when the message "recording in progress" appears.

I would say that the cartridge should be removed right after the little melody of 3 or 4 notes when the message "saving in progress" appears. About 1 full second after the message. :)
