Hello, when I launch the 3D view of my project on Architect 3D, the program crashes with the error: failed to open DIB file c:/progra~1/ARCHIT~1/textures/custom textures/NA/PTX WHAT IS THIS? Thank you for the information
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0

In fact, it's simpler than reinstalling everything. The software indicates that it can't open the file "c:/progra~1/ARCHIT~1/textures/custom textures/NA.PTX", which is obviously a file containing custom textures...
No matter, let's give it to him! Just copy any PTX file found, for example, in the folder "c:/progra~1/ARCHIT~1/textures/custom textures/Pierre", let's copy the file "stoneswall01.ptx"
into the folder "c:/progra~1/ARCHIT~1/textures/custom textures" and rename it to "NA.PTX"
And there you go! No more crashing!
However, this means that any objects in the 3D view that did not have predefined textures will have the stone texture (the file we copied).

I confirm that there is indeed a second file to download. You need to go to your Avanquest customer account, then click on the order regarding Architecte 3D. You will see that there is a second file (1.6 GB) to download. All that's left is to start the installation of the second file and everything will go smoothly!!!
Good luck to everyone.
Good luck to everyone.
Otherwise, you can go to My Sketcher, https://cedar-architect.com/
It works online and is free for individuals.

Hello,
I encountered this problem when I added an object (a fridge). I immediately received the error message, and the 3D object had no textures applied (it was completely white) when it should have been textured in a metallic silver tone. To fix the issue, I completely retextured the object. First directly from the 3D view, but apparently I must have forgotten some polygons. More drastically, I edited the 3D object using the 3D furniture editor and reapplied the texture to the entire object by checking the box "Apply to object" at the top right. I exited while saving the changes and voila, no more error message.
If you don't know which object is causing this error, save your project in a temporary file and then load/save each time by deleting a specific object from the project. Once identified, apply the method above. It's tedious but oh well ...

Hello,
I had the same problem under Windows 7. In fact, the software does not have write permissions in the folder in question.
Therefore, it cannot copy the textures into the NA.PTX file.
You need to go through Windows Explorer, find the folder c:/progra~1/ARCHIT~1/textures/custom textures/. Right-click on the "custom textures" folder and click on 'properties', then on the 'security' tab. Next, click on 'users' and then on 'edit'. In the window that opens, check 'full control'. then OK.
Everything should be back to normal. I think this workaround also applies to Windows Vista.

It's very, very simple, Avanquest's response corroborates what Piximina said:
"We inform you that to use the Architect 3D software correctly, it is necessary to download and install the 2 FILES available for download, including the CONTENT Pack (or TEXTURE) which is required to obtain the 3D.
Please go through your client area to download this file."
Everything is said: it's the second file that we all forgot to download, and it also requires about 1.7 GB!! And all the textures and everything are inside!
I hope this helps you!
Igor

Hello,
I'm having the same issue, the 3D view is glitching.
However, I can't install the Content Pack (when running the installer, a DOS window appears for half a second and then nothing...). I don't know if the issue is due to the .exe or my system configuration, it's quite strange!
Does anyone have any idea?

Hello
you click and close each window as long as there is one in your view; over time the bug disappears
it swells a bit but it doesn't last too long.

Hello,
I have the same problem, namely that Archi 3D is showing me this message: Error: failed to open DIB file c:/progra~1/ARCHIT~1/textures/custom textures/NA/PTX when I request a 3D view.
I tried all the solutions you suggested but none of them work.
Does anyone have a little solution for me?
Thanks in advance.
Carine

Good evening,
I also have this missing file issue. I removed the "Drop Shadow" option from all the objects, but I'm still getting the error!
Do you have another solution?
Thank you in advance,
Thierry

Hello, I have the new version and it's the same except that in the folder there is no textures folder. I tried on 3 PCs: 1 on XP, 1 on Vista, and 1 on Seven, and it's always the same. Does anyone have an idea? Just to remind you, it's the Nexgen Platinum 2011 version.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.
Good evening,
I have the same issue as John, no Texture folder on my end either, and the same error during rendering. For a paid version, it's still a bit much...

Well then, I have your solution...
A second file must be downloaded which contains, for example, the textures, the file "content"
If you purchased this software from Avanquest like I did, refer to the email they sent you. On this invoice, you have all the necessary information to retrieve this file from their server.
Good luck to everyone and happy creating!

You can also create your own NA.PTX file with the material editor. If you give it a flashy color like candy pink, you'll immediately see in your project which objects are affected, unless of course your furniture is pink! This way, you can modify your objects with an appropriate texture.
