Hello,
I have a little (big) problem with my PSP. It's a PSP 3000 with version 5.02.
I borrowed Final Fantasy Crisis Core and it was working very well until yesterday. The game glitched during a limit (a mini cutscene when the character is in "trance"), so I had to restart the PSP.
But now when I try to load the save file, the PSP searches but after about 5 seconds, there’s a small sound like "Tac... Tac..." as if something is knocking inside the PSP...
I thought that the save file must be corrupted... So I started a new game and bam, the PSP glitches again once during a limit and another time during a game loading.
I tried to make a new save during the new game and I can’t load it, there’s always that "Tac... Tac...".
Could you please help me if someone has had the same problem?
Thank you!

check if the game is not scratched or if the UMD plastic is not broken
and check the condition of your memory stick
try with another game and with another stick to see if you still hear the noise
(Final Fantasy, very good choice indeed^^)

If the UMD has nothing, it's surely the lens transport system that hasn't been reset.

Thank you for these answers :)
So I've looked closely, the UMD doesn't seem to have suffered, it's not scratched and the protection is perfect! What’s strange is that I was able to play it for the last 2 days (about 4 hours). And suddenly, the game bugs and the little noise appears... it’s really weird...
As for the solutions, I don't have any other games since I just bought the PSP, so I can’t try it, I’ll have to ask a friend for one. And for the memory stick, I don’t have another one either lol.

If it is under warranty, have it repaired!
If not, open the UMD drive with the screen of your console facing you, locate the lens (use a dry cotton swab to clean it). Once done, you'll see that the lens is placed on a small carriage driven by a worm screw. What can happen is that this small system may not be fully returned to the right; with a small rigid object, gently push the system all the way to the right and listen for a small click.
Then try again.
