Problem with my lava lamp

Hello, I've had a lava lamp for a few days, and my problem is that the wax inside isn't forming the nice bubbles like before; it's running down the glass, which obviously dirties the bottle. When I saw that, I turned it off, and the wax came back down. This morning, I turned it back on to check: part of the wax formed strange shapes up to a certain height without leaving the bottom of the bottle, and when I turned it off, it stayed stuck just like when it was working. The wax isn't going down! Can someone help me?

I had the same experience too, but then I understood that you have to shake the bottle and then let it light all night, and it's good.

His advice is bad because he writes that most bulbs should not be turned on for more than 8 hours in a row.
