“PLE files are LOG files encrypted by Messenger Plus!. If your PC doesn't recognize the extension, you may need to re-associate it via the 'File Options' menu or reinstall Messenger Plus!. ”

To associate PLE files with Messenger Plus!:

Computer > Control Panel > 'Folder Options' then 'File Type' tab, select the extension you want: PLE, then click 'Change'. Choose the program you want to open this extension with: Messenger Plus! and click OK.

Hello,
To read a .ple file, you need to:

1. Install Skype.

2. Download "Messenger Plus" for Skype at this address by clicking on the green "Download free" button:
http://www.msgplus.net/en-US/Downloads/Messenger-Plus-Live-Detail-Download

3. Install the downloaded file.
4. Start Skype.
In the new vertical menu bar on the left "Plus!", click on the icon (circle with an arrow) to open the history manager and search for your .ple file.
You will need to enter the password associated with the MSN account when the file was encrypted.
Then the .ple file opens in the same Skype window.
That's it.
