Hello,
I bought my friend's brother's N95 phone about a year ago... the problem is that apparently there's a lock code that I don’t remember putting in (it slipped my mind)... I want to exchange it with another friend's phone but without this code, the exchange won’t happen. I called Mobistar to see if it was possible to recover it, and they asked me to go to a Mobistar center or a Nokia store (I won’t be able to go to one of these stores as there aren’t any near my home). I wanted to ask for your help to know how to retrieve this code; it would be really useful to me. Thank you in advance for your response.
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 6.0

I found a solution myself!!! First, I did a reset with the 4 keys: star + 3 + call + on/off... then I went to the Nokia website, downloaded PC Suite, and I simply updated the version of my Nokia!! There you go, it's quite "annoying" but it works!!

Hi, I have the same problem as you, but when I tried to install the new software, PC Suite doesn't detect my phone. How did you do it?

Hello, I have the same problem with my Nokia N95 regarding the lock code, and I followed your solution with the manipulations, that is to say pressing star, 3, pick up, on/off. But it doesn't work! What else can I do??? Thank you for helping me!! Please!!!!

Hello
The answer was given in post #2
Here it is in more detail.
Excerpt from the device manual on pages 139 and 140
Lock code (also known as security code)
This lock code (5 digits) allows you to lock the device to prevent unauthorized use. The initial lock code is 12345 To avoid unauthorized use of the device, you must change this code. Do not disclose it and keep it in a safe place, away from your device. If you forget your code, contact your service provider.

If you haven't changed it, it's 12345

The problem is that I apparently changed the code because I tried everything imaginable. Going to a store is a bit difficult for me because I don't have a car or a way to get there, and to do it right, I should exchange it today because I'm leaving tomorrow and won't see the person who exchanges the phone for another 2 to 3 weeks.

Hold down these 4 keys for 20 seconds (until the phone fully powers on)

I did it, the phone has returned to its original settings, but it still asks for the lock code, and apparently the code is not the original one. I tried 12345, then 00000, then 11111, and none of those work. The code has at least 5 digits.

There, you're in deep trouble...
sorry to tell you this but
this code is somewhat like the phone's anti-theft system
we can't tell you how to bypass the protection
but know that it's not impossible
ask Google

Okay, I can understand; plus I've seen on other forums that they say there's a guideline that prohibits responding to this topic. Thank you all for your help. It's already solved a problem; my phone was taking 10 minutes to start, and now it doesn't do that anymore. I will ask Google, but I've already searched a bit, and it doesn't say much about it. Goodbye and thanks again. I will leave this forum as unresolved for 2 days in case someone finds another solution for me.
