Message "Votre châssis a été ouvert" Solved

Question

Hello,

I have recently been getting the error message "your chassis has been opened" appearing consistently!

By pressing F1, I can continue booting Windows, but it's quite annoying in the end.

Especially since I haven't touched this machine (for once!). I saw that on some BIOS, there was an option to reset or enable it, but I haven't found it on mine!

Here is my PC: ACER M3201 and the BIOS: R01-B0

Okay, in the BIOS you should have an option "restore default" or "load setup default and exit" or something similar, try that but I fear you won't achieve anything...

Hi, so this means that a small switch designed to detect the presence of a side plate on the tower indicates that it is not present, so there are three possibilities: either a plate was improperly replaced or bent, or there's a faulty contact (a broken solder joint or something at the switch), or there could be a bug... and in that case, a CMOS clear is indeed necessary.

It is actually an operation inside the PC... the simplest way is to locate the battery on the motherboard, a small flat battery 1.5 - 2 cm in diameter, remove it, unplug the 230V cable going to the power supply, wait 30 seconds, then reinsert the battery and the cable and restart... if the problem persists, check the small contacts (the wires) contactor, the state of the side plates to see if nothing is bent... and if still nothing, I will tell you how to perform an advanced CMOS clear. Also, after removing the battery, etc., you might get a message on startup, go through it with the appropriate key (probably F1), and you will need to update your system (date and time).

Oh dear,

Well, apparently, all of this seems simple, but before I take apart my PC, I would like to find a solution through the BIOS!
My PC is only 3 months old, and I don’t want to venture into the machine unless absolutely necessary!
I might as well contact the hotline or the after-sales service of Auchan! (good luck!) or look for other solutions on the forum.

Yes, try that... if it doesn't work, you should either contact customer service or do what I told you earlier. But indeed, if the PC is only 3 months old, it might be wiser not to open it.

Thank you, Xand, for your advice, and indeed, it was necessary to reset to the original settings using "load optimal default". I must admit I thought about it, but what scared me was the word "default".

In the end, I didn't need the hotline, and that's a good thing!

At startup, I have the message: Warning! Your chassis has been opened. How can I clear this?

When the chassis is opened, some desktop computers may display the following message: Warning! Your chassis has been opened. To fix this issue, you need to close the case and reset the Chassis Opened Warning setting in the BIOS (Basic Input-Output System).

SOLUTION

Resetting the chassis opened warning:

Restart the computer, as soon as the first screen with the logo appears, immediately press the F2 key, or the DEL key if you have a desktop computer, to enter the BIOS.
Press the RIGHT ARROW key until you select BIOS Security Features or Integrated Peripherals, and choose one of the following options.

If you selected the BIOS Security Features tab:

Use the DOWN ARROW key to navigate to Chassis Opened Warning and press the ENTER key.
Use the RIGHT or LEFT ARROW key to select Disabled and press ENTER.
Press the F10 key to save the changes and restart the computer.

If you selected the Integrated Peripherals tab:

Use the DOWN ARROW key to navigate to Chassis Onboard I/O Setup and press the ENTER key.
Use the UP or DOWN ARROW key to navigate to Chassis Opened Warning and press ENTER.
Select clear, and press ENTER to confirm.
Press the F10 key to save the changes and restart the computer.
