Audio player with pause

Solved

Hello,

I am looking for an audio player (MP3, Wav, Wma...), preferably freeware, even basic, but with pause controls that can be activated by programmable keys or key combinations while the player runs in the background. The goal is simply to transcribe recorded courses and lectures and to be able to stop/restart the playback quickly without leaving the word processor. This on a laptop, which does not have multimedia keys, otherwise the question would not arise.

Could someone please advise me?

Thanks in advance
Olivier
Configuration: Windows Vista Firefox 3.0.4

With VLC, the "space" key has the play/pause function as long as the player is in the foreground.

For example, I type my text while listening to music, I click on the player, I press the spacebar, and the music stops.

The problem is that the keyboard keys are only active for the current program. No keyboard shortcuts for the player can work in the word processor...

Have a nice day.

This solution unfortunately requires leaving the word processor, which is not practical and wastes time. What I want is to not have to leave the word processor.
But thank you for taking the time to respond!

As I explained to you, it's not possible ...

Now a keyboard with multimedia keys should not exceed 20 Euros.
I even have one to give away that I no longer use..........

Alright. If you're sure about it... too bad for me. It's true that there is the option of a multimedia keyboard, but it annoys me a bit to buy one just for that (not so much for the money, but because it seems a bit wasteful for occasional use). And it's bulky on a desk.

But, once again, thank you for replying to me.

Hi,

with Winamp, you can use the keyboard shortcuts function to pause, resume, and many other features.

It's a free program and in French. By the way, I think the sound quality is much better than Windows Media Player.

You can download it here: http://www.todae.fr/winamp/

Winamp! It's been a long time since I've used it, and I didn't know it had this feature. Thank you, Deediay, I will give it a try.

Awesome, it works. And I can even set my own desired shortcut keys. That's great, thank you so much.

I've thought about it, but I don't understand how to validate this "resolved". Can you help me please?

Ok, it's probably because you're in anonymous mode and the cookies from CCM have been deleted from your browser.

No problem, I've requested to mark it as resolved.
