Where to begin? Recently I build new Pc. It’s AMD Phenom 9550; Asus M3A32-MVP Deluxe; Sapphire Radeon 4830; Kingston HyperX 2gb; Cooler Master Elite 332 420W; WD Blue 320gb SATA II and finally Pioneer 216D SATA. Everything seemed normal until I needed to burn couple Cd & DVD. And the Game begun. It succeded to burn every 3rd disc, at first showing leadi in error, that finalizing error for first couple of discs. Than it started to be constan error after chaching files and before starting to burn disc. Didn’t mention earlier, my OS is Win XP SP3, Nero Burning Rom 9 and in bios I enabled IDE compatibility for SATA drives. So I started to google for some kind of solution. I tried everything, from installing Power2go, changing SATA cable & port, flashing Firmware and reflashing the same and googling again and again. Power2go in error log give na error code 0xeblablabla so I went to google again and found so many people with the same problem but with same or different drives (DVD-RW, Blue Ray, LG, NEC, Pioneer, Plextor…). Finally on Cyberlink site I saw the meaning of error code. IT was Device Hardware Error. F…, ok I can replace it, but I didn’t bought drive in my home town… So I went to by a new one. Beck home I replace “old” Pioneer with new one and guess what? Same stupid thing. Hm, what’s the solution, needles to google again, I know every page by now. Is it just bad luck or… I started to think. SATA ATA SATA ATA, must be something. Ok Xp doesn’t ship with sata drivers, you need to have a floppy or to use nlite to integrate sata drivers in XP’s installation disc. What about Vista, I saw it and I don’t like Vista. Ok, lets try Win 7 downloaded several weeks ago. Use my old pc to burn disc and here we go. Changed in bios from IDE to AHCI andstarted installation. First thing after I log on on fresh installed Win 7 was to burn DVD, so I used win burning utility (didn’t find where to change speed…) and added 1.5 gb image file and YES, it burne DVD at 20X without any problem. Ok, beginners luck, I was prepared with 25 Verbatim 16R- discs. Than I installed Roxio Creator and started to burn, and burn and burn with no errors at all. I didn’t have time to workaround and reinstalling XP with sata drivers included or anything elese. I suppose that everything is working in Vista like in Win 7. When I reinstall XP will let you know is that working, till than hope I spere some one of headache. Have a nice time, Milos

Cordialement
