Mail merge Word with a PDF attachment Solved

Hello,

Do you have a solution for performing a mail merge using Word, with a PDF attachment?
(The attached PDF file must contain the fields generated by the mail merge, so it will be different for each recipient).

Configuration: Windows Vista Internet Explorer 7.0

I have been using this macro for a few years at the office on Office 2010.
On my personal computer (Office 2013), I had, among other issues, the problem of the "end" reappearing and my file not being saved.
I removed the spaces in the document title and now it works.
The file can be on drive d: just as easily as c:, it doesn't matter.

You want the mail merge letters in Word to be PDFs so you can send them by email. Is that correct?

Hello

I've been facing the same issue for several months now.

For now, I've resolved it by using the mailing assistant in Writer from Open Office, which offers the option to send the merged document as an attachment in Open Office, Word, HTML, or PDF format.

I am also looking for the same solution directly in Word because mail merging with Open Office is still more complicated than with Word.

Hello,

There is no native Word solution to perform a mail merge with an attachment. The only existing solution is to send the email text as an attachment.

That said, with an Outlook macro, it can be done. The macro was written by Oliv' for the Outlook FAQ, and I have explained how it works here:

Follow the procedure carefully and you shouldn't encounter any issues.

Hello,

Just a small clarification regarding the VB macro in Outlook; it works well in Office 2010. You just need to correct the following two lines:

PJ = InputBox("Location of the attachment for the MAIL MERGE?", "MAIL MERGE setup for the session", publipostagePJ(i))

MsgBox "Your mail merge must contain the term:" & vbCr & "MAIL MERGE" & vbCr & "in the subject." & vbCr & "This will be removed upon sending"

which should be on the same line; with just a space separating them.

Hello,

There is a workaround that can be applied if the number of emails is not too large. This solution is a manual process that requires a bit of time.

The first step is to set Outlook to "offline" mode.
Then, you create your mailing from Word using the mail merge feature (the usual process for emailing from Word).
All the personalized emails will be stuck in the outbox.
You just need to open them one by one, attach the files you want, and confirm the email by clicking "send".
Once all your emails are modified with the attachments and waiting to be sent, you reconnect Outlook, and the emails will be sent.

I have entered the precise path; the window warning that "the word MAILING must appear in the subject" is showing fine.

However, when I click OK, it takes me back to the previous window, that is, entering the file path, and it keeps looping like this.....
