Me, it's only with my FREE FTP that I've been having this problem since today. Yesterday, it was fine.
However, I can access two other FTPs through Mozilla, of course.

Same as yesterday, I can't connect with FileZilla but it works with ftpperso.free.fr ?????

resetting Internet Explorer to default settings ----no result
trying passive and active modes ---------no result
modifying data execution prevention settings (Vista) --------no result

so maybe a bug on the Free server

- Host: <identifier>.<host address>.<fr> or <com> etc.
- Identifier: <identifier>
- Password: yours
- Port: no need

No, it's not a rumor: Free is disabling certain personal pages that do not meet certain conditions.
You then have to go through Free's admins to unlock the account.

Excuse me for jumping into the conversation, but the same thing happened to me, and personally, I deleted FileZilla and redownloaded it. Then I entered my FTP codes and the others, being careful not to make mistakes, and IT WORKED!!

to know what it means, click on FTP.
these are the codes your server provided you to access your website so that you can either add pages, transform it, etc....!
you enter these codes in FileZilla in the 3 windows that are at the top of FileZilla!

A website consists of several pages that you created on your desktop offline!
But there are sites that provide you with all the tools to create your own site; otherwise, you do it like this /

- you create your website on your desktop (multiple pages, a header, a photo folder...)
- you take filezilla
- you buy a hosting service (some are free)
- you get an autoresponder (if you want to send emails!)
- you sign up with Google
- you transfer your site from your desktop to the web using Filezilla (with the FTP codes provided by your host)
- and that's it, you're online

A server is your Internet Service Provider (ISP) (Free, Orange, etc...)

To create websites with hosting (which means you have all the facilities to do it,
a child can create a site easily without learning HTML, PHP, etc.)

There you go, but I don't know about Free, nor Darty or SFR! etc....

Okay, it seems pretty complicated to me!!!
Anyway, I think I'm going about it the wrong way because I want an online server where I can store files and a software that needs to run through this server so that my colleagues can access it. (the software is a planner)

It's what I'm telling you, a server is a big machine that's always running!
You use it to host a website or a squeeze page; in your case, it will be to host files and a software if I understood correctly, but who can change "transform" the files, if it's you, it's like you're doing a website!

To host a website or a simple page on the internet, you need a hosting provider, and to access that provider, they give you FTP codes that you enter into something like FileZilla!

If you have configured a static address with e.g. "noip.com" you need to give it time to apply the change (about ten minutes).

Then you need to clear your DNS which has retained your numeric address "x.x.x.x".

Open a command prompt window (run/cmd) and then enter "ipconfig /flushdns".

There you go.

Well, I'm retracting my last comment. It only worked for a few minutes.

However, everything works fine externally for me. I just left the default Filezilla address for the external address.

It also works now from the internal side, but it tells me that the address is not routable but retains the server's address.

So, try changing the external address in Filezilla or just keep the one from Filezilla. You never know.
